Flashbacks Of A Fool recieved just 2 out of 5 stars in its Empire magazine review. I saw a bit for it on breakfast television this morning and it looks crap. The James Bond brand will bring the punters in so it doesn't hugely affect matters but now that he has a little bit of clout thanks to Barbara and 007, you'd think he'd be able to come up with a decent non-Bond project or two.

CR has actually started airing on Showtime. Odd though, they were announced long ago that they would most likely go on HBO because its a Sony release, but I suppose since it is part of MGM it has to go under the rules of going on Showtime like all other Bond films.

Shame, I was hoping I would catch CR when I channel surf, and possibly the previous films. :P
You have seen CR on Showtime in the USA? Recently? I will have to check that out.
I don't have Showtime unfortunately, I saw the listing on TV Guide. I was under the impression it would go under HBO since all the Sony releases went to that channel. Plus an article even stated CR would run on HBO in December 07. I suppose something changed. The bit was actually in an article posted in December 06 about the cable networks bidding for the rights to air Casino Royale. Spike TV, holder of all the films, lost to USA Networks. Not surprising though, because USA bid $20 million for the rights. You'd have to be insane to go over that much, let alone 20 million.

My friend has Showtime and he watched CR Saturday night, so it just started it's cable run in the USA.

Speaking of other Craig movies..I'm a Netflix subscriber and in the batch of the 3 they sent me recently(I have the 3 at a time program)was Munich
which I've seen before . A documentary about the Munich Olympics tragedy(One Day In September )got me wanting to see it again.

I am surprised that Daniel Craig has not managed to find any decent roles after Casino Royale.

Add Mark Strong with a bizzarre American (I presume) accent. Yes, I'll be rushing to my local cinema for this one.

Talk is going around that Bond's main villain MIGHT be gay in QOSTBM. IF so, I am not surprised, given Haggis and Forster helming this film. Maybe that was the surprise we all were warned about. IF true, how would you receive this plot storyline? http://movies.aol.com/movie-photo-bts/quantum-of-solace Notice slide 1, MGW's comment, then check out slide 2.

Eh, I don't have a problem with homosexuality. It just seems wrong in a Bond film though. It would change how I viewed the film, absolutely.

If it infers 'possible' relations with Bond? Yes. DAF had that storyline, but the pair was involved with each other, not Connery. IF this is the direction Craig enjoys taking Bond to, good luck to him.

IF true sweet Katied, this franchise, as we KNEW it, will be lost.

You really believe that Mike and Babs want to make Bond gay?

I think the Bond franchise would be in deep doo doo if they did.I mean, like I said,I don't care, but conservative America would, absolutely. It would seem thrown in there for shock value, and I guaranda*mntee you there would be plenty of debate about it.

I think they MAY want an undertone that the villain has desires on Bond, and MIGHT try to come on to him, with Bond turning him down. Any type of storyline like this, as Katied suggests, would be for pure shock value, and I think would serve no positive purpose. IF Craig and Eon and Haggis and Forster think this will work, they may be in for a rude awakening.

Well that if it's that case then I wouldn't mind.

This reminds me of someone at MI6 jokingly mentioning that Bond and Trevelyan had sexual tension hence the line "James and I shared everything together."

006: "For England, James?"
007: "For England, Alec."

:P

Why? Are Haggis or Forster gay? I don't really know anything about their personal lives.

Both admit to being quite liberal minded and given that thought process and these rumors, which are NOT being denied, nor confirmed by Eon, it would not surprise me if this was in fact being incorporated into the QOSTBM script. It won't be a huge deal time wise in the film probably, but nevertheless, could impact the script. I want to know what MGW meant when he said 'the public will be mad'?

Not sure about Haggis, but I know there has been speculation about Forster being gay.

Why wpuld they make James Bond homosexual? If they did it would completly ruin james Bond's persona of being a ladies man. Its what Bond was famous for.
