He belongs to everybody, he is eternal—except in that film. If I was asked tomorrow to write the script, I wouldn’t be able to do it. Where would you start? You can’t have him waking up in the shower and saying it was all a dream.” (reference to Dallas bringing back Bobby Ewing)
Proves that Anthony Horowitz is a hack. He’s either lying, completely incompetent , or just plain unimaginative
How do you explain the reboot? They didn’t they just did it, then tried to cash in on the image of the legacy each movie.
It’s not hard to get bond going again. The only question is do you want to reboot again or just make a movie.
If thunderball and casino royale rights (Warner Brothers, and Sony tried ) were their own, separate from DANJAQ rights, were used to make another series the studios involved weren’t planning on doing an origin story or explaining where it fits. They’re just gonna make the movies.
In the age of multiverse over use in plot development I don’t think you’d have much resistance to just bond being bond doing the job.
Get a solid movie that sparks a fire out of the embers Babs left behind , then worry about where it fits in the franchise or story arcs .
Unless they reboot from day one. Which I’d think would be a mistake.
