EON Productions, the company controlled by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, has filed an earnings report in the UK revealing that Amazon MGM Studios paid $20 million for its stake in 007! Amazon MGM Studios declined to comment. Here’s the full note in the EON Productions earnings report: “On 20 February 2025, the company entered into an agreement for the sale of its interest in the Bond franchise, all associated assets as well as its subsidiary companies, B24 Limited and B25 Limited. The total consideration for the sale amounted to $20 million (USD).” This is significantly short of the $1B figure reported when the Bond deal was agreed, but as Deadline noted at the time, the structure of the joint venture was unknown and could have included Amazon stock options. Sources say that Amazon’s deal with EON is structured as a joint venture, and over time the Broccoli company is going to get paid. Amazon has the majority stake. The $20M is believed to be an initial payment, with EON getting recompensed in different ways over time. This payment was part of the deal, not the entirety of the deal. https://deadline.com/2025/10/amazon-mgm ... 236594201/

That is probably just the preproduction money, money Babs charged to produce nothing for 5 years. It was said at the time of dad eon charged/was paid $20million for preproduction, then the rest of the movie cost came in.

Basically I doubt it’s anything to do with the rights which is held by danjaq .

Connery struggled giving away the role, and clearly did not enjoy Moore’s performances, and how much they had diverged from the Bond he had created. “His is a sort of parody of the character, as it were, so you would go for the laugh or the humour at whatever the cost of the credibility or the reality,” Connery continued to note of Moore’s efforts. “I think that’s basically the difference. I think he took another direction with it that way and acquired an entirely different audience.” https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/sean-conne ... -a-parody/

A controversy traces back to a 2020 social media post made by Mexican actress Sandra Echeverría, who starred alongside Taylor-Johnson in the 2012 action movie Savages. In the post, Echeverría accused the British actor of being reckless during a stunt scene, saying he allegedly slammed her against a truck with excessive force. She described the experience as painful and said it left her shaken and injured. At the time, her story didn’t gain much traction. But with Taylor-Johnson now being linked to major Hollywood roles, including James Bond and possibly Batman — the old allegations have resurfaced, sparking new discussion about his past behavior. People close to the production of Savages told outlets that Taylor-Johnson had a reputation for being intense on set. One insider told the press, “It’s no secret Aaron was a bit cocky back then. He’s always been very competitive, and sometimes that energy went too far.”

Sydney Sweeney recently joked about her interest in being a secret agent, suggesting she would “have more fun as James Bond” than as a Bond Girl. Her comments landed amid intense speculation about the franchise’s future, with names like Steven Knight and Denis Villeneuve linked to the project. However, this dream appears to be dead on arrival. Radar Online insiders reveal that Sweeney is “not on any serious casting list” for the upcoming film. A senior casting executive with connections to Amazon MGM Studios, the new creative home of Bond, explained the cold reality. “She’s effectively been sidelined,” the source stated. “The Bond producers are meticulous about image and global appeal. After the American Eagle scandal, she’s seen as too controversial – not bankable enough for such a politically sensitive franchise.” The backlash dates back to August 2022, when photos from Sweeney’s family birthday celebration in Idaho showed guests wearing “Blue Lives Matter” apparel. One photo even featured a “Thin Blue Line” shirt, a police-support slogan criticized for links to far-right groups. It attracted immediate backlash and called out the actress. Although Sweeney did issue a statement saying she was “heartbroken that innocent family moments are being twisted,” it had its ripple effects on her reputation. A PR strategist familiar with the situation confirmed, “Hollywood has a long memory. After that, major studios quietly stepped back from her. She’s been blacklisted by top producers who want to avoid online controversy.”

Angelina Jolie said the same thing, before going on to make Salt.
