Thought we should have a car thread-my mom just got a new Prius yesterday(she's giving the old one to my youngest nephew who's close to getting his driver's license!)

lot of those Prius are getting handed down. Except for the batteries they last really well.
The economy tires make for great drifting

Here's the thing:his parents could totally get the nephew a new car but.. my mom's old car is still in good enough shape that it's a perfect car for him(better than my sister-in-law's 12 year old mini van)

I know somebody who got their aunts Prius this summer, except for the batteries it was in great shape. Her aunt wanted to trad it in on a new model but the low balled her on price so she let he family take it.

Don't know what the safety ratings are for them but it's a decent car to start a new driver on. 0-60 don't bother. But it's not too slow they get run over in traffic.

Well! I have some news..my dad is getting a Tesla! He’s got to sort out a few things like how he’s going to charge it, first.

4 years later..and my dad does NOT have a Tesla(my brother does-don’t hate..he can’t stand E*on), my other brother(it rhymes!) bought a plug in Volvo, my nephew bought a Maverick truck(not an EV..but he works for the city of Vista parks so it’s a perfect car for him) and today..my dad bought a plug in Chevy Equinox!

The Volvo is basically a Chinese company now. Not sure how good quality is, but I doubt it’s actually anything different than anybody else is making.

Maverick, I see quite a few people liking them. Great milage on a hybrid models

I don’t know much about the equinox but it’s supposed to be decent.

Honestly Elon was always like this. He’s played the left eco darling, then he went maga. He still lost some subsidies. I think all he a truly cares about is going to mars

The Maverick is nice.A living room on wheels. Very comfortable seats!

The infotainment system you can stream YouTube and a couple other things while in Park. really nice
Quiet ride really comfortable
Kind of wish we bought one when they first came out cause they were cheap, now the price has gone up considerably now. if we had bought one in 2022 it still be worth the same amount or more now
