Superman is projected to make around $700 million worldwide, off a $225 million production budget. It should make a small profit. Probably not as much as the studio would like, but enough.

Yeah but the p&a (? Think that’s what it’s still called) budget is probably pretty big
Superman is at $500 million , so maybe it cross the finish line with just enough to make money .

My main grip about this movie is it was a James Gunn almost vanity project. I like the direction they are trying to go, however I don’t think this is a strong story or a good introduction to a new universe. That’s why I think it’s gonna drop off fairly quick and then maybe it’ll pick up steam sequels or other follow ups.

Its drop-offs so far have been fairly typical for modern summer blockbusters. It's doing OK. Not spectacularly, but OK.

Really weak, honestly I think the whole year is weak offerings from Hollywood

Latest Weekend: Aug 29-31
Weapons $10.5M
Jaws
2025 Re-release (50th Anniversary)
$8.2M
Caught Stealing $7.9M
Freakier Friday $6.6M
The Roses $6.2M

Only list Superman will do well in. Domestic top 5.
Imho the Superman story was underwhelming and that’s why it dropped off at the Bo. anecdotal, but when visiting my parents we put on the new Superman movie for dad he watched some of it then got up in the slower parts and started puttering around. He’s not rejecting it, just in the comfort of his own home when the movie slow down he just did something else.

Top 2025 Movies
A Minecraft Movie $423.9M
Lilo & Stitch $423.3M
Superman $351.7M
Jurassic World: Rebirth $338.3M
Sinners $278.6M

Worldwide 2025
Ne Zha 2 $1.9B
Lilo & Stitch $1.0B
A Minecraft Movie $957.7M
Jurassic World: Rebirth $855.6M
How to Train Your Dragon $629.0M
