In March, Broccoli was asked the following: How do you see the film industry continuing to evolve in the years ahead?

BB: In order for the film industry to continue to evolve, we need to double down on diversity and tell a multitude of stories from diverse voices and ensure that training exists for the next generation of filmmakers. https://www.eastwestbank.com/ReachFurth ... a-Broccoli

Totally agree with the second half! For the first half, check out my most recent rant...

World's First James Bond Bar The 007 Is Officially Open! Fans of James Bond can now catch a glimpse of what it is like to be the suave, fictional British Secret Service agent in the world’s first 007-themed bar. Recently opening up in London’s iconic Burlington Arcade as a new pop-up bar, The 007 pays homage to the iconic character created by Ian Fleming.........Kris and all from the UK should go there and toast Broccoli to the customers to keep the British end up! https://hypebeast.com/2024/9/worlds-fir ... ton-arcade

Take a look at the comments on this tweet, folks. According to one poster, liking the Craig era is now a minority position:

Do NOT agree to be a part then!
Dunno if this is an old interview. She has had one of the most successful careers ever. Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon, Star Trek guardians of the Galaxy, kung fu panda, Marco Polo, Shang Chi , Witcher . seriously she’s had a great career. Maybe is slowed down from what she was used to after being cast for bond , also could be because at that time she was moving from the Hong Kong industry to the main stream. Bond gave her the transition from Hong Kong to mainstream Hollywood. Got to remember this is at a time where Jackie Chan was barely making a living. Late 90s big influx of Hong Kong action stars, that cooled off as it moved into 2000s. Also might have something to do with Hong Kong going back to the Chinese and trying to draw attention to it.
What she had a great career a lot of actors would kill for. Compared to Craig and Brosnan I’d say she’s doing well

"I try to make films that are entertaining…’ the actor said in interview, ‘People have enough problems in the world without going and seeing them on the screen. It’s better they should escape from the humdrum normal existence into the world of fantasy and relax. That’s what entertainment means."
Rodger Moore as quoted in this article.

If only Hollywood remembered that a little more often!

Happy James Bond Day. I’ll be watching three films today: Dr. No, Live and Let Die, The Living Daylights.
On a separate note I was at Venice and Toronto and, amongst films I saw, was Queer. Apart from one particular scene that was extremely uncomfortable to watch, it was shot beautifully, like a fever dream. It became more dreamlike as the story moved forward and I have to admit that Craig and Starkey were quite remarkable in their roles (I’m giving an honest assessment and I’m not trying to be hyperbolic and push buttons as many of you don’t like Craig (and I myself am hot and cold with the actor)). This is a film that will not be to everyone’s tastes, no matter what one thinks about the leads.

I've nothing against Craig, I just don't like him as Bond. But Queer doesn't seem like a movie I would want to watch, no matter who was in it.

I don't mind Craig outside Bond (he was great in Knives Out), but this movie sounds a bit grim and depressing for my tastes.
