The 15 most groan-inducing Bond puns

I find a lot of the choices either unfair or just not cringe worthy enough.
They acknowledge that "got the boot" and "he blew a fuse" were a part of their time, yet they list them? That doesn't make sense. That's like putting Dr. No on the worst list simply because it was made in 1962.
But I will admit some of their choices were funny, but I could think of even more terrible lines than "cunning linguist". Hell, I never found that groan inducing, just plain lazy. Lines like "I thought Christmas only came once a year" should be on #1. It's unsubtle, classless and one of the most unbondian lines ever in the series. That kind of crap should stay in teen sex comedies.

It was mentioned in the text, but didn't make the list. What they didn't mention is the reason those puns were there in the first place - namely that the censors back in the 60's would never have allowed people to be electrocuted or harpooned without some humour to leaven the violence (Desmond Llewellyn said as much in an interview once). Even now, I think the only reason the torture scene in CR was allowed at PG-13/12A level was because of the humour of Bond taunting Le Chiffre ("no, no, to the left").Necros wrote:I like Bond (and I don't like CR) also for this silly puns... altrough in the Italian version must of all are changhed...
