Hugh Jackman Says He Was Offered ‘Casino Royale’ After ‘X-Men’ Success, But He Didn’t Want To Juggle Bond & Wolverine. "I didn’t want to do the same things. You know, the role of the hero action star. I mean, it was the meat-and-potatoes of a lot of American film, that archetype. It was all various forms of heroic guys in tough situations. I was like, ‘Uh, no. This is a problem.’ ... I had a look at it [the James Bond offer]. I was like, ‘If I’m doing that and Wolverine, I’ll have no time to do anything else.’ I clearly find it more interesting to play people who color outside the lines.” https://movieweb.com/hugh-jackman-jim-b ... ine-roles/

Irene Cara, the Academy Award-winning singer who performed the electric title tracks in two aspirational self-expression movies of the 1980s, “Flashdance” and “Fame,” has died. She was 63. Her death at her Florida home was confirmed by her publicist, Judith A. Moose, on Twitter on Saturday. Ms. Moose, who did not specify when Ms. Cara died, said her cause of death was “currently unknown and will be released when information is available.”

Apologies if anyone else has already posted this. It's probably nonsense anyway.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is 'top choice to become the next James Bond after impressing bosses in secret audition'

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is allegedly the top choice to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, after taking part in a secret screen test.

The actor, 32, is said to have impressed producer Barbara Broccoli during an audition at Pinewood Studios, where many of the franchise's films have been filmed.

A source told The Sun: 'Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him. He is now one of the front-runners.'

Aaron, who is married to Fifty Shades Of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson, 55, has starred in the Kick-Ass movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Godzilla.
He started out in the 2001 series Armadillo before featuring in The Bill and Casualty, and securing his big break in the 2009 John Lennon biopic, Nowhere Boy.

I can believe that he had a screen test, but whether than makes him the "top choice", I'm not so sure, He doesn't seem like a bad choice, though,

I dunno, I don't think he's the worst choice. Maybe a bit too much of a pretty boy, but people said the same thing about Pierce.

Kind of funny that Babs said he was too “fey”, I wonder how serious the offer actual was and when it happened. Amy Pascal wanted Clive Owen worse than anything, Sam worthingtob said he was hired and sent to sas training in Australia or something, I was a supporter of him for the roel but as the years have gone on and I saw him in more movies he really wasn’t a good fit for 007 after all. Neither was bad boy thug Craig but it shouldn’t be settling for make due with a role like bond

bjmdds wrote:Been dealing with severe left leg sciatica pain 21 straight days. MRI soon to evaluate...............A report from Hollywood insider Overlord DVD has now indicated that Disney has tested six different endings to the movie and that the audiences haven’t been happy with any of them.

“Indiana Jones 5 has been a troubled production, delayed a full year after this channel leaked the horrible things Kathleen Kennedy had planned for Indiana Jones. Now, after a year’s worth of reshoots and tinkering, Disney realizes that they have a disaster on their hands as test audiences reject every single version they’ve been shown!”
Sorry to hear about the sciatica , I’ve had it in both legs before, can be maddening . Couldn’t sleep, soon as the Tylenol or ibuprofen wore off, I wake up. Chiropractor help. but it was more exercises and stretching that loosened whatever pinched . But it’s not always simple as mine was.
Hope you’re better soon

Thanks big O. Tylenol with codeine and ibuprofen are what I take in moderation. I hate taking pills. The body hopefully heals itself. Sleeping well is my desire but it is not easy. How long did it last?
Sorry bj just checking the tread now, it was weeks maybe months of pain. Somewhere near the end it be sporadic,

but there was another injury to my leg that didn’t manifest for years after then event so I missed treatment for that, it took months of recovery around or a little after the same time. I want to say it was almost a year after I started treatment and exercises for initial sciatica. The human body try’s to adapt and keep going, apparently to had adjusted around my leg when it was injured screwing up the back. When the back got stronger and more lined up the leg not being right came from and center.

For now my right leg can have pain shooting down at night it but it is not normally sciatica.

A little off topic but we watched black Adam today, not a great film kind of standard mediocre dc movie we’ve come to expect. But brosnan was great in it, I was unsure of his character but it was well done. Of the heroes he was a great on screen, hawk man was so-so , the other two younger heroes were ok but kind of under the wing of dr fate/brosnan

Well I'll believe it when the bookies weigh in. Seriously though, he looks the business, especially after Dan (no great feat I know). I don't know what his opinions on the series are or how much say he'd have, at least at the start, or where EON's heads are at going forward. Personally I'd be shocked at this point if an Anglo-Saxon actor with traditional Bond looks is cast

I wouldn't. EON have a history of hinting at radical change and then pulling back ("007 is a woman! For about 10 minutes.")

I see your point Kris, after all, they've been crowing about creating "meatier" roles for women and the last few "Bond women" we got... Well, let's just say those were some pretty dry bones.
I'm referring more to the outside pressure they're feeling, not to mention the free publicity it would garner and after casting Dan they've shown they are more than willing to step away from the traditional.

As for the click bait that 007 is a woman, I have a sneaking suspicion that played a much larger role in the film, but was pared back after a disastrous test screening.

They get the publicity anyway, though. I think that's why they do it.
