I'm in the same boat, no matter who they pick it can't be any worse. Even if it is a "worse" pick, I'm so checked out it wouldn't matter.

I just watched back to back Matt Helm movies. Give me gadgets over mental anguish in a spy film any day :!: Dean Martin had several gadgets to play with which makes these movies FUN to watch, with the beautiful women to boot.

I think what is going to make it better or worse is how eon handles the story/ atmosphere that make up the world bond inhabits. Babs has so much self loathing for her fathers works and seeks the approval of her peers so much I don’t think she is capable of making fun bond movies.

The only thing she inherited from her father is cubby’s greed. Her rep is bad in the industry and the peers she wants the approval of so badly think she is an idiot.

She may have broken bond with her obsession with Craig, allowing him to make unreasonable demands and determine the story arcs killing bond on the flimsiest of pretenses, was a mistake. One that nobody else in Hollywood would make in the same position.

Well I’m may need to take that back a little Disney did allow Harrison Ford to kill Han Solo but then again Harrison Ford did return for the third movie. Still slightly different circumstances.

I wonder if the killing bond off was really in Craig original contract, he renegotiated so often I think it had to be added in at some point. I can’t see anybody being cool with a unknown actor that did look or act the part (and never did) being allowed to kill off bond. I can’t see Sony or mgm being ok with the idea.
Form the studio perspective Craig’s contract should be up in 6-7 years if production was where it should be, I don’t see mgm who went bankrupt waiting on eon to make bond movies being ok with the idea in a decade they could be out of the bond business. I think the killing bond had to be added much later in Craigs time as bond.

Of the bad things about MGW, on the good side he did seem to get cubby’s formula. I’m kind of hopeful that his sons might bring some fun back to bond. But a lot has to happen for bond to get on track.

I don't think the killing of Han Solo in The Force Awakens is really comparable to killing James Bond in a James Bond film. It was more like the death of Obi-Wan in the original Star Wars, story-wise.

I can almost guarantee killing off Bond wasn't in Craig's original contract. Remember originally he was supposed to grow into "the Bond we all know and love." Bond's death was a condition Craig placed on coming back for the fifth film, Danny Boyle already had a story in the works when he was told to kill off Bond causing the rift between him an EON. Much like the gaslighting that surrounds the "5 film story arc," so too is history rewritten to say Bond's death was always part of the plan.

I agree. It was meant to have the same impact and same story arc affect.
Just in the sense of one actors demand kill off an iconic characters, it’s one people doubt should be granted in hindsight.
I would argue Hugh jackmans Logan was a one off set on its own, but could be tied to the X-men series if the audience wanted or considered undone by days of future past.

I’d bet it was the renegotiation right about the time of skyfall . Craig original contract was three movies and from what I remember rather low pay days for each .

James Caan, the veteran screen actor known for his work in such films as "The Godfather," "Misery" and "Elf," has died, his family said in a statement on his verified Twitter account. He was 82.

"It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6," the statement read. "The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."
They did not disclose a cause of death

RIP James Caan.

In other news, I just got out of Jurassic World: Dominion and don't agree with the negative comments at all. Yes, there was the occasional plot thread left dangling, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and found it a very satisfying conclusion to the series. I do think they should end it there, though, before the law of diminishing returns starts to set in.

BJ, you might want to lie down before reading this. You know Jack White, the man whose terrible theme song for QOS was inexplicably chosen instead of Dame Shirley's much better one? Well, he's now murdered an Elvis song:

Edit: just realised it's from the soundtrack of the movie, so you've probably already heard it.

OK baby, it is back! What the heck happened? The forum was off line since Friday afternoon and it said the domain had ended. The link to this webpage changed and the other posters might not find it if they do not go to the home page first.............. Nash, aka, Benny, now a new name, Charles Lindberg McGill Jr., wrote this on the home page for all to read when he thought the forum was finished:

"Charles Lindberg McGill Jr. says:

Aww.. That’s too bad. I guess YOU weren’t paying for their upkeep with your richie trust fund after all. And the *Real* leader “Goldeneye” is conveniently unreachable because he’s just another deadbeat all along who never gave a s**t. Just like that two-face “moderator” Kristatos who always covered for your delusional hatemongering filth that your self-declared “BJMDDS Discussion Board” monopolized. Because all three of you are assholes.

And if that board is gone forever (which I sincerely hope it is), then I say good riddance to all of that chicanery that enabled and preserved all those sick jokes like that racist piece-of-s**t “c**t-Lippy”, phony starfucker “commander07707” (?), pathetic attention-whore “katied-whatever-she’s-calling-herself-now”, parroting suckup “Veronica”, that smug-ass prick “John P. Drake” and his charity-case psycho “Glorious England”, and your own personal pet whackjob “FormerBondFan” who ran away like a little b!+ch because they couldn’t take a dose of their own medicine. What a crybaby.

But dirtybenny’s rants should stay put right here if they can; they’re still amusing. But you, “bjmdds”, can go stuff yourself. Because the truth is, you’re never mattered all that much to anyone."

I've not heard from Goldeneye for ages, but I assume he just forgot to renew the domain name. How was Nash able to write on the homepage if the site was down?

If he hates us here so much, then why does he lurk around and read what is written and make himself sick over it? The guy always was a jealous loser who never got the acclaim he so desperately seeks. Look at the kind of vitriol a literary character created in Nash, aka Benny, and his new name of the day, a fictional character who appears in the crime drama television series Better Call Saul, a spin-off prequel of Breaking Bad. Nash defines demented, and he must lead a miserable existence in the real world, if he can ever be a part of it. Pathetic. Image

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is who Craig gushed over after NTTD was released. Craig said: "She’s got devilish humour. Her influence permeates a lot of this film. She walked that fantastic line of keeping it as a thriller and being very funny. Phoebe didn’t come in to change Bond. She came in to spice it up for sure, but she’s a Bond fan – she wasn’t about to take him in a different direction.”---------what did Cr-egg find funny in NTTD?
