Sir Roger was the first Bond I remember watching. A natural fit and worthy successor to Sir Sean. Without his portrayal, the franchise would be over.

All good in the Skywalker clan. Hope you are keeping well? Good to see the forum doing well 👍

Plenty of topics for me to catch up on. Got in the mood to dig out the Bond collection.

You have been away almost as long as the last Bond film was released Skywalker, 5 1/2 years! As the finale to Cr-egg occurs in 2 weeks, the return of many posters might take place. Glad to see you are back!

Don't forget that there's still the home media release to come. But as they used to say in old war movies, "it'll all be over by Christmas." I hope they announce the new Bond soon after that. I don't think I could face another year or two of non-stories about bookies' odds, or the Daily Express simply making up announcements.

Jeez 😳 didn't realise it had been that long. Hope you are keeping well my friend?

Any rumours on who replaces DC? Any preference apart from the usual....tall, handsome, debonair etc 😄

Oh, plenty of rumours. Both BJ and I favour Aidan Turner as Craig's replacement, but I fear his ship may already have sailed. I haven't heard him talked about much as a potential Bond lately, whereas he was one of the front-runners around the time of Poldark and Then There Were None.

For me there is ONE great choice as Kris said.....AIDAN........all of the rest fall short in comparison. Broccoli has gold with Aidan but she most likely will tarnish the brand with some 'woke' concoction of her own making.

Don't know much about him, but he has the type of look you'd associate the Bond character to have.

Welcome back Skywalker!

After Daniel Craig's final insult is released next week there should be lots of speculation about the next Bond. I remember a few years ago when Craig said he was not returning there were lots of rumours about the next bond with one person (an insider) suggesting Tom Hiddleston had been signed up.

Thanks Carl. I too, like the idea of Tom Hiddleston. Got many natural characteristics of what you'd associate Bond as having.

I miss Roger too, he was the Bond I grew up with.

That's a pretty solid list, the only way it would differ from mine, I would drop Octopussy a few notches to number 5, I like it, just for some reason that film doesn't gel with me as well as the others.

Much appreciated! Yeah, I know Octopussy isn't considered too fondly by most, but I just love it. It's like a warm and cozy comfort blanket of a film for me.

Great list. Octopussy is also one of my favorites. I especially love the long sequence of action on the train, with some interesting car stunts as well. The whole thing is just great fun and the tension from the bomb countdown is good too. The plot's quite complicated which makes it a bit more interesting to rewatch.

I'm not sure exactly how I'd rank Roger's movies. Something like this:

1) Octopussy
2) For Your Eyes Only
3) A View To A Kill
4) The Spy Who Loved Me
5) Live And Let Die
6) The Man With The Golden Gun
7) Moonraker

TSWLM was probably my favorite Moore film when I was younger but I seem to enjoy John Glen's ones the most now. I think it's just something about the style of action and the more serious themes (despite the silly moments). I enjoy all of them though, so they're very hard to rank.
