From The Numbers' weekend forecast:
Lionsgate isn’t releasing box office numbers today, because it’s Thanksgiving, so we don’t have a Wednesday number of Knives Out just yet. That said, other studios have given their estimates and they mostly agree on $8.6 million, which is better than anticipated. If its reviews and its A minus from CinemaScore turn into long legs, it will easily top $20 million over three days and might even hit $25 million. That would be all the more impressive, as not everyone thought it would reach $25 million over five days. A $35 million five-day opening would give it a realistic chance at $100 million domestically, especially if it can remain in wide release until the new year.

not bad. My theory is on the same page bad product over boycotts and avoiding it.

Knives out did a respectable first weekend, if it drops off it’s no murder on the orient express. If it’s keeps going it’s got bragging rights even if a it’s small return compared to other films

Weekend Box Office 5-Day Actuals
1. Frozen II - $125 million
2. Knives Out - $41.4 million
3. Ford v Ferrari - $19 million
Get the full chart here: https://imdb.to/2szsQ25

So, Knives Out exceeded expectations, and is in no way another Craig dud that will send him running back to Babbzy with his tail between his legs, begging to do a sixth "Bond" film. That has to be good news, right?

Well this isn’t going to get him a $20 million dollar offer from any other franchises. With $40 million budget he had to take a fraction of the $8 million he demanded for everything else since CR

I want to see if this gets the holiday legs or drops off. Murder on the orient express surprised me by hanging in the top ten for a long time.
It’ll make back it cost by this weekend I’d guess, only needs $120 million

Yes, you compared it to Murder on the Orient Express before. It had a similar opening, and a smaller second weekend drop. What's more, it has a smaller production budget, so if it makes $252 million worldwide, it will be as profitable. But will it survive Star Wars taking up 19 screens of your local 20-screen multiplex from the 19th?

I don’t think it survives next weekend. It had no competition for a few weeks, but then my circle of movie goers online still don’t care about it and never cared about murder on the orient express this is in a way lampooning. It’s at the break even point now but honestly it’s slowed down internationally more than I expected, unless the numbers site is lagging behind the latest weekend.

https://m.the-numbers.com/movies/custom ... ess-(2017)

Star Wars will be number one no matter what but that franchise has its own fallout happening, not sure the fans will forgive Disney allowing Rian Johnson to defy expectation by pissing on established Star Wars cannon and plot points literally just established by the previous movie. The franchise is in trouble with the theme park too. Not a happy fan base.

Except for the Mandelorean, that’s one of the best Star Wars associated anything I’ve seen in decades. It a Clint Eastwood old west/samurai/baby groot adventure low key but good story telling and production values. I’m actually looking forward to the Obi Wan adventures coming soon.

I have no idea what that movie was about. The names involved used to be big at least in Europe but their catalogs have been sold from under some of them and they lost distribution rights in other markets as agreements expired.

Looks like a knock-off of the Lego movies, but featuring a brand that most people will hardly recognize. I vaguely remember the name from my childhood, but my first reaction on seeing an ad for the movie was "Playmobil? Is that still a thing?"

Jumanji 2 is off to a good start.richard jewell is a sad true story kind of timely as we get a fresh view of doj abuses. He wasn’t the only guy they did like that, there was a scientist they accused of being the anthrax bomber but had zero evidence. Then we could get into the innocent people the cia grabbed of the streets of European cities to torture at black sites across the world.

We know people going to last nights showing with their whole family , honestly we’ve lost interest in the saga never thought I’d say that.

But it’s going to be a big opening not sure it’ll get repeat viewings or climb as high as it could have had the trilogy not been tainted

The name rise of skywalker is a Signal to fans unhappy with last Jedi that hey we’re getting this fan boat upright again come back to see the new movie.

It only got a B+ on Cinemascore, which is a bad sign as far as word of mouth is concerned. Even The Last Jedi, divisive as it was, got an A.

B is bad, it does take a lot of people to dislike it on opening night to get that rank.
Most people on opening nights are hyped for the movie.
