Remember, where this is a will, there is a relative. MI6 is NOT the independent entity they promote themselves to be. They are EON shills who work for the house. This is NOT good news but indicative of a film studio gone mad, and truthfully, I find it shocking! http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/st ... 88,00.html

Still unpacking and settling in. I'm still waiting for my Broadband to get up and running, but apart from that all is well.bjmdds wrote:Welcome back Young Skywalker. I thought Darth Sidious had turned you to the dark side of the Bond force. Glad to see you have returned refreshed. How was the move?

Was that question directed at katied or the company in general? US Football is quite good fun - but then I like all the "football" codes: "soccer", Rugby Union, Rugby League etc.
(sorry for going off at a tangent Kristatos!).

It was an interesting event. I wonder if the UK would like more of them?carl stromberg wrote:I watched the highlights on television. Did you like the new Wembley Stadium Bjmmds?bjmdds wrote:Did you watch USA footaball at Wembley Stadium Sunday? If so, did you enjoy watching the New York Giants?

In that case, here's my $0.02. I don't think MI6 are directly funded by EON, but I equate them to those "Beltway insider" or "Westminster village" journalists (depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on) who refrain from asking tough questions of senior government figures (which is supposed to be the job of a reporter) because they're afraid of being denied access to exclusives.bjmdds wrote:Anyone, including Katied( who frequents that site often.)Kristatos wrote:Was that question directed at katied or the company in general? Probably so Kris. If you 'make nice' to Eon, 'maybe' they will return the favor?Kristatos wrote:In that case, here's my $0.02. 'BJ' what makes you think that the website 'MI6' and EON are linked?
Glad to see that 'Haggis' has delivered a screenplay draft to the studio
before the writers guild strike.........................just hope its bloody good.
Mind you i dont quite understand how these writers strikes work, because
in reality it doesn't really stop anyone from continuing a script if they want to?.......does it?

How can they not be EA? You think that they can do such a publication without Eon getting involved?Arthur Brain wrote:'BJ' what makes you think that the website 'MI6' and EON are linked?

Who says Brosnan could not have been Bond in the 1970s? Do you prefer Moore, or is Pierce just as convincing? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB2vbDTFyJU For you Dalton fans who want your Bond gritty, I believe you will find this video quite interesting. It involves an actor who mocked Roger Moore's exit from a horse's rear with a plane: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Knh2Ck8vQbk

Haggis wrote and directed In The Valley Of Elah, which was not well received now. He had a more intense time rewriting the new Bond script as well. What makes Haggis the sudden end all for Bond scripts anyway? Eon did just fine without him. As you can see, his most recently penned film did not do well. Can we expect the same from the next Bond storyline? I wonder what Purvis and Wade think about his influence?Skywalker wrote:Tend to agree with you Kris. It will be interesting to see how the public responds to the next Bond film. If it is more of the same, and public opinion goes against the 24/Bourne style, the film may well underperform. This like you stated could lead to a change in style or tone. Whether DC would be in favour of this is unknown, but it is clear he enjoys the new style of Bond film. I'm not sure he would want or could perform in the more traditional style of Bond film, so in essence could well leave or wake up one morning and find out he's been ditched on GMTV.Kristatos wrote: I think the only thing that could affect his tenure as Bond is if a Bond film with him grossly underperforms, and even then, I think EON would just change direction rather than sack the actor. They didn't sack Roger after TMWTGG tanked or (contrary to popular belief) Tim after LTK flopped. They just resolved to do better with the next film.

Are you saying Haggis' rewrite is such a breath of fresh air Sweeney? Were rewrites done prior to CR? He was paid $4 million to rewrite P&W's ideas for The Bourne Mimicry in 2008. Why?The Sweeney wrote:I have to disagree there, bj.bjmdds wrote: What makes Haggis the sudden end all for Bond scripts anyway? Eon did just fine without him.
IMO, the Brosnan films suffered most due to bad scripts. I think EON desperately needed another writer.

If Eon ever sees this video, look for them in the opening of a future Bond film, hopefully with a new actor in the role. Remember the stunt work in the beginning of TSWLM? Well, you 'ain't seen nothing yet, trust me!' Http://www.biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=4262
