it’s the rock’s newest movie. It’s kinda of a die hard looking movie with the twist the rock is a former FBI agent with a prosthetic leg.
Dunno why Hollywood is flooding the zone with the rock

That movie needs $400 million to hit the Break even point. Unless over seas loves it will be a money loser.

No big real big bo hits last weekend but the top 6 all had $138 million might not help studios that much but theater owners might take it as a positive sign.

We went to the equalizer 2, good movie a little slow but maybe in keeping with the tv series. Not a lot of people at the early showing, we were only one of two couples there wouldn’t be surprised if the actual numbers drop lower

I think black panther and avengers infinity war are the big movies this year but they are not summer movies that the studios expected to be the big earners.

Solo was expected to dominate the month of May into June. It didn’t but nothing else took over either.
I never noticed the tie in crap for solo, a restaurant had a banner in front for a special meal with the solo name attached to it. There are cell phone cases and other crap nobody would of wanted anyway but months later after the movie has been pulled from the theaters it’s kind of obvious Disney over played their hand monetizing solo and last Jedi.

But then ready player one a popular book and Steven Spielberg movie couldn’t find an audience either $582 million it maybe broke even with a $175 million budget. It’s a good movie but I’m starting to think Hollywood marketing is under estimating how expensive it is to take a family to the movies

Plus the market is oversaturated. There used to be 2 or 3 big tentpole movies released each summer. In recent years, it's been more like a dozen.

It’s another box office weekend where the movie star actually pulls the audience in as Tom Cruise sixthquel Mission: Impossible – Fallout heads for a franchise opening record of $60M per early morning industry estimates at 4,386 theaters, which also doubles as Cruise’s second-best debut at the box office after War of the Worlds’ 3-day of $64.8M (which was part of a 6-day Independence day opening). Even more awesome, Fallout reps the first time that a Mission: Impossible has ever earned an A CinemaScore from moviegoers; the previous three installments receiving A-s. As mentioned earlier, Fallout is also the best reviewed M:I of all-time with a 98% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Should Fallout ease down to the high $50Ms, any weekend result over Mission: Impossible II‘s $57.8M reps a franchise opening record.

I nearly chose Fallout for my birthday movie, but my sister and her kids were planning to come, so we ended up going to see Mamma Mia 2 instead, as it was the only PG movie that was showing at a suitable time (my first choice, The Incredibles 2, was only showing at 2.15 and 8pm). Then my nephew ended up in A&E due to pulling his fingernail out, so they didn't come anyway. He is nearly 12, so he's probably old enough, but my niece is only 8, and Mission: Impossible didn't sound suitable for her. I checked the BBFC website, which gives detailed descriptions of their classification decisions, and it said that it was rated 12A for bloody injury detail and the occasional f-bomb.
