Estimate for Mission Impossible is $61.5 million, slightly short of the projected figure, but still the best-ever opening for the franchise.

In other news movie pass is beginning to fail. Apparently last Thursday they ran out of money and this weekend the blacked out mi fallout. This is only a month after amc theaters rolled out their similar a list movie plan
I had liked movie pass until this year. This year they changed so many things it became a pain to use it, I feel bad because I recommended it. What was good about it was it worked with a lot of theater chains, what is bad about it now is they are trying to add surcharges for popular movies at popular times on top of blacking out big new releases. Over the last few months they tried demanding part of concession money claiming they drive people to the theaters. I think they were right because amc wouldn’t give in then started their own service to bypass movie pass.

$16.6 & $16.3 million Friday & Saturday are amazing for film projected to top out at $23 million, that also looked like a jaws remake, with kind of weak pr and mixed reviews.

With a budget of $130 they need around $400 million to breakeven

It might do that worldwide. I don't think I'll be seeing it in the cinema. It looks quite fun in a cheesy, B-movie way, but not worth shelling out a tenner for.

I have no idea what Crazy Rich Asians is, but I find it hilarious that a movie with that title looks set to top the box office charts.
