Tell your Bond 24 Title

Post by TimothyBrosnan »

The topic title says it all. :D

'Risico'

'Property Of A Lady'

'Undertaken' (I've just thought of this one. I don't know why, but it's a good name)

With Craig as Bond, it should be Risible, not Risico.

Depression Is All You Need
Licence To Get Depressed
For Your Tears Only

The Dark Thug Conclusion
Sadness Is Forever

However, if you want serious ones, here:
A Country To Die For
Blankshot (inspired from both Carte Blanche and Point Blank)
Duty Before Pleasure
A Touch of A Spy

That's all I have now.

Speaking seriously, I't like them to use Risico or The Hildebrand Rarity. I don't think 007 In New York would work as a film title, and The Property of a Lady to me is the title of the unmade third Dalton movie, and I don't really like the idea of it being reused, though I suppose there's no logical reason why they shouldn't. Then they could move on to unused Fleming titles like My Enemy's Enemy for future films.

Yes, 007 in New York couldn't fit as a Bond film title, it's just sounds like the idea of a three year old writing a composition. I also think that Dalton's proposed third film's script should be used under the title POAL. It would really work. However, Role of Honour would fit as a Bond title as well, but let's keep the storyline out because it was awful. Scorpius with different plot would work, too. Gardner had many good titles, but most of his books were godawful.

They might actually desire a return to a traditional aspect of Bond with a Fleming title next time. I would say the odds are better than 50/50. It won't matter with the lemon faced simian remaining in his Neanderthal portrayal of Bond.

Maybe Purvis and Wade have invented a family shop or overseas summer home which could supply the title for the movie.

I have the feeling that B24 might be making references to Geoffrey Jenkins or his cancelled novel in the next entry, such as it might be titled Per Fine Ounce. Just saying.

I doubt it, for the same reason they won't film the continuation novels. They don't own the rights, and it's cheaper just to commission a new screenplay than to buy them.

Good point. It's funny that they bought the rights to Devil May Care and Carte Blanche, but they don't care for the other ones.

I'm not sure they own the rights to either book.

Devil May Care; EON (Barbara) and Daniel praised for how wonderful it was and how it was supposedly just like reading Ian, I do remember reading they passed on the movie rights for Devil May Care (If they did acquire the rights I'd be glad to know it)

Carte Blanche; I'm not sure about at all, Jeffery Deaver did say 'Carte Blanche has "gone to" EON',
Does that mean they bought the rights? Reviewing the material possibly? Listing to an interview I assume he meant submitted to.
To me Carte Blanche would be a good reboot/update after Craig leaves, I know some have a problem with the literary reboot I too have some problems with sections of it however on a whole it was a good update of Ian's 007.

Per Fine Ounce is a good name, oddly the movies and recent books have become more bland.
I believe there is a story about Harry Saltzman and Cubby being angered by Glidrose rejecting Per Fine Ounce, a story if published they intended to produce, after it was rejected Harry and Cubby rejected all continuation novels supposedly it was a result of Glidrose's rejection of Geoffrey Jenkins.

It could just be a courtesy to EON, to make sure they didn't inadvertently end up using the same plot. IIRC, Skyfall was still in development when it came out.

I saw an ad for a film called Deadfall today. That title was probably considered by Eon at some point.
