Yes, only small amount of numbers are made, and they are handmade, very rare and expensive. I tell you that. I guess that was the plan, as Bond was popular, it would boost sales for that weapon. Until now, that scene is iconic, which makes the rifle itself iconic.

Here's the rankings:

3 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service: Sterling SMG
4 - Moonraker: Holland & Holland Royal
5 - The Living Daylights: Walther WA2000
6 - A View To A Kill: Remington Model 31
7 - Skyfall: Glock 17
8 - Die Another Day: Ingram MAC-10
9 - The World Is Not Enough: M1911A1
10 - For Your Eyes Only: Smith & Wesson Model 39
11 - Diamonds Are Forever: Colt Detective Special
12 - You Only Live Twice: Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless
13 - Octopussy: Walther P5
14 - GoldenEye: Browning BDM
15 - The Spy Who Loved Me: Beretta Model 70
16 - Dr. No: FN Model 1910
17 - Goldfinger: Walther P38
18 - Thunderball: Spear-Gun
19 - The Man With The Golden Gun: Custom-Built Bolt-Action Rifle
20 - Licence To Kill: Taurus PT92
21 - Tomorrow Never Dies: Walther P99
22 - Casino Royale: Browning Hi-Power
23 - Quantum of Solace: SIG P226

I guess we might as well declare the PPK the winner, there's not much point in me fighting for the Smith & Wesson all by my lonesome.

Don't get me, wrong, Saint007. Smith & Wesson Model 29 is one of the best handguns ever made. Come on, even Dirty Harry, who doesn't like anything so easily, adores that gun. :)

I do like the Smith & Wesson it's just that I have to give the PPK a nod even though it is not always in the movies.

Of course if I had a show down I'd rather the S&W, reliable and a one round put down. The PPK was a decent gun for its time, the S&W still is a hell of a gun.

Agreed, that's true. But, the thing is, S&W is a magnum, a cannon of its own. Only trained shooters can balance the recoil of that gun, whereas PPK is just a tiny pistol but very reliable.

It seems to have reached its natural conclusion.
