Awesome movie but the Taurus is a knock off of the Beretta 92 (thank you Lethal Weapon for making that design popular), not that I care for the Beretta. We need to get MichaelZWilliamson in on this dude knows his weapons.
BTW I'm giving the PPK a point for the classic nature of the gun even in it's day it wasn't a power house personally I'd go for a Glock any day of the week.

This game is difficult for me as I know next to nothing about guns. The point for the Colt Detective Special was more for the name of the gun than the gun itself. It has a two-fisted, pulp fiction quality to it that seems appropriate given Bond's literary roots in the hard-boiled detective novels of the '30s and '40s. Deciding which gun to take a point from was more of a challenge. I assume the one from Dr No is the one that Q took away from Bond and replaced with the Walther PPK?

No, Kris. The gun Bond replaced with a PPK is the Beretta M1934 (Beretta 418 in the novel), the FN Model 1910 is the gun which Bond used to execute Professor Dent. Yes, it was supposed to be a PPK, but the producers somehow didn't find a suppressor for the PPK he was using, so Bond's sidearm suddenly becomes a FN Model 1910. In Crab Key, his pistol becomes a M1911A1 for a few shots when he was shooting at the "dragon".

sorry, how can a P-99, a very unreliable, extremely inaccurate, rushed out firearm with even WORSE muzzle climb controll issues than the Sig Sauer 9x19MM (the .45 ACP options come with a heavier barrel with more controlled climb), known for its uncontrollable muzzle, have more points than the Glock?, one of the finest 9x19MM semi automatic handguns ever made, that in 4th gen specification, may actually be the finest 9x19MM semi auto ever put on sale, very accurate, extremely reliable, with a 20 year gestation period and a level, perfectly balanced muzzle?

guys, please, learn something about guns!

Oh well. I don't know what else I would have taken it from. Think I might leave this game to people who know what they're talking about.

You just can google them and see if you like. Check out The Internet Movie Firearms Database website for it, I've started learning about the guns that appeared in movies/games from there. It's quite interesting sometimes, and it aided me in writing my fan fictions. Such as, if you ask me, Walther P99 is really a wrong choice for Bond, and he should be using a Glock 17, and unfortunately it's only Cr-egg who used it in both Casino Royale and Skyfall. Shame, it's a good gun, and it's a good looking gun.

Most of the guns were chosen because of popularity IMHO. The p99 was new in 1997 still a desperate attempt by walther to update its image and catch up to glock who nobody in the gun industry took seriously when they came on the scene. Then Smith and Wesson sold the awful sw99 which was a rebranded p99.

But because Bond is bond they used the updated walther and it made sense for all the reasons of tradition. Even Fleming didn't understand the guns he wrote about I'd say if you've seen the gun in the movie you know enough about it to vote.

Problem for me is the glock is a damned good gun, basically the colt peacemaker of its time. Hard to find a fault with it, but some of the historical guns are worth appreciating too.

Next time I'm on my pc i will post pic of each gun.

Trick Question What Gun Is In Bond & Felix Leiter's Hand?
Hint it is not a Walther PPK
Image
[glow=green]Answer[/glow] [spoil]Walther PP[/spoil]
[spoil]James Bond (Sean Connery) is assigned a 7.65 mm "Walther PPK" by M, ordering him to hand over his Beretta (which M accuses of being underpowered, despite the 1934's Italian 9mm Corto being superior to the replacement PPK's 7.65mm chambering; this is a relic from the novel, where the Beretta in question was, as noted above, chambered in .25ACP). However in the film he actually uses a longer-barreled Walther PP chambered in .380 ACP (same as carried by the Metropolitan Police in 1961). Felix Leiter (Jack Lord) also carries a Walther PP, even though he's a CIA agent and, according to M, would use the PPK. Bond's PP would later be auctioned by Christie's.[/spoil]
