Favourite Bond Theme Song?

Post by Goldeneye »

Seems a timely topic. Which of the theme songs are your favorites?

The songs are listed in order of the release dates of the movies. You can chose up to five or only one.

Unless this is dedicated to songs of the official films.

Neither was Matt Monro's vocals.

I think if we're gonna make a huge list of official Bond songs, we might as well include songs from not only the main titles but within the films ("We Have all the time in the World", "Where Has Everybody Gone"), and the credits ("Surrender", "If There Was a Man").

Matt Monro was used so it would be clear which song was being referred to. Lionel Bart, the composer, might get a few too many head scratches.

The intention of the poll is for the favorite opening title music/theme song.

I forgot all about NSNA. I will think about it and possibly make some small changes to the poll during the day.

I can't stand Bassey's singing.

I like the instrumentals best. OHMSS is a great example why it should be done more often.

Instrumentals: OHMSS & FRWL

Thunderball w/Tom Jones
Live and Let Die w/Paul McCartney
Licence to Kill w/Gladys Knight (This one might change, right now it is under my skin. The others stay constant.)
"That f**king truck driver!" Ian Fleming

I know the last 2 I want now but can't change my vote. Bummer.

I though it would leave the option to vote open until i filled them. Apparently not. :(

Lulu and Another Way to Die are getting no love here.
With our diverse group it is educational which songs are agreed upon :)

Top 3
#1 Goldfinger (Shirley Bassey)
#2 GoldenEye (Tina Turner)
#3 Nobody Does It Better (Carly Simon)

Well lulu and AWTD suck. What did you expect? ;)

As much as we disagree about Craig's spy most of us (by us I mean all of us here) are pretty honest about our lieks and dislikes. The best bond according to our poll is Sean Connery. That is only possible because we are honest about our feelings and don't stick to partisan BS.
If we stuck to partisan BS our opinions wouldn't be as fun to read.

I have never liked Lulu...she played Adrian Mole's mum in The Growing Pains Of Adrian Mole(am I the only one that remembers this?)..Julie Walters played her in the first series(Secret Diary).I always liked Julie Walters' portrayal better.Truer to the book than Lulu's. Yes, I know I'm off topic :P

"You Know My Name" is my favourite, it's an awesome rock track that sounds really different from what has come before but is still undeniably Bondian. A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights and Tommorow Never Dies (I think I'm the only person that likes that one) are also fantastic, and I've always liked the OHMSS theme as well.
