GoldenEye On Amazon HD

Post by Logan »

For those who don't know Amazon.com launched a HD movie rental service this week.

Among the James Bond Movies are GoldenEye, Die Another Day, Dr No, From Russia With Love, Diamonds Are Forever, Casino Royale with more to come.

You can watch high-definition movies from Amazon Video On Demand on your television through compatible devices including: Panasonic VIERA Cast-enabled TVs, the Roku Digital Video Player, TiVo Series3, HD, and HD XL DVRs, and the Sony Bravia Internet Video Link. (HD movies are not currently available for viewing on your computer.)

Even though the Tivo Series 3 HD only outputs 1080i, the Tivo Series 3 HD gets a 1080p24 encode and 5.1 sound.

I must confess I haven't watched this one for a few years. I saw it six times in the cinema.

I don't have HD,but if I did that would be a good way to watch the Bond films, especially the first few.

I watched a little of this on television at the weekend. It feels like a real period piece now with Brosnan's longish hair and all the model work. The score is awful but it's still a lot more fun than watching Daniel Craig wander about with a glum expression. Love the moment where Bond wraps a towel around that man's head and throws him down some stairs on the boat.
