I agree with pretty much every word of this, though I think the de-emphasising of Bond's sex appeal is part of a wider Hollywood trend. Films nowadays are geared much more to the international market, including some countries like India which have much stricter taboos on these things. I hear young people nowadays saying things like "I can't believe Titanic got away with a PG-13 when you can see Kate Winslet's boobs". It shows how much movies have changed since it was made.

That's an excellent point Kristatos. Of course I'm not advocating graphic depictions of sex merely seeing Bond do what he does best which is woo the ladys. I do want to point out however in Skyfall we see Bond banging (to use the parlance of our times) his new found native girl friend up against a wall, which to me is a bit too graphic. It's funny to me that they get it wrong on both accounts.

Favorite Movies: There are many to tell, but I prefer something that has a great storyline with loads of escapism and fantastic performance with over-the-top elements which would be pleasing. Action is the main genre I follow, and the spy genre would second that.

My name is Chris and have been a Bond fan virtually my whole life. Unlike most people I know I've actually read the novels as well as seem the movies and came across this place in a google image search looking for any rare cover art that hasn't already been featured on illustrated007. My favourite Bond is Timothy Dalton, movie is GoldenEye and book is OHMSS. I do consider myself a "purist" Bond fan, however I don't exactly dislike Daniel Craig that much myself. Saying that I can fully understand the reasons why others don't like him.

I'm from New Zealand, birthplace of two Bond film directors, and am an admin on the James Bond wiki (same username there). Long story short, it's nice to meet everyone!

Not yet Kris :!:  It's quite a project shipping them from NZ to NY via Australia, Shaghai, and Ankorage Alaska as the stop overs via cargo planes. I have been involved in it for many years and have owned 15 harness horses the past 17 years. NZ and Australia are popular places to purchase horses from to race here. Perhaps KiwiChris has been to the racetracks I mentioned in NZ.

Racing was never my thing tbh. The only racecourse I've been to is Trentham. NZ does have a good rep for horse breeding, the mighty Phar-Lap was bred here (NOT Australia :x) and I've even seen his skeleton in a museum.

Thankfully not. My Aunty in Christchurch had to have her house demolished and rebuilt which was a bit of a bummer. She focussed on the positives and added a few improvements and such.

shorry for the late entry: was fortunate to have as riding instructors two pretty sisters, very Bond girls. They also had such unique names that I couldn't repeat them here (someone would say, Why I know them!); I had private lessons, alternating between the two; and it was only me and teacher. This may sound like from a RM Bond scene, but it's true: one day, "Sylvia" (not French) at the beginning of the lesson said, "Meet me in the tack room." Not a soul was within a mile. A minute later I went into the open door and there she was, bent at the waist in toe-touching position with her derriere (clad in skin tight pale tan riding pants) aimed suavely at the door, and of course Cmdr. 0077's non-jaundiced  eyes. Prior to this she gave no indications, and was a professional instructor in every way. Btw, now recall Sylvia resembled Jenny Flex in both her physicality and attire (and I suppose character).
