Skywalker fell this weekend we’ll see how big tomorrow.

we saw it today @ IMAX and the theater was packed , first showing as usual for us. we took nieces and nephews to see it they enjoined it , some caught things from various star wars series including clone wars cartoon.

I’d say base on what previous weekends we’ve seen this busy I’d say $80-90 million

I don’t think skywalker was anything special it checked the boxes for star wars but honestly I don’t feel the Skywalker saga was served at all by this trilogy

My guess some time in a 5-10 years maybe sooner Disney is going to give Lucas his trilogy either by hiring him to direct or making the stories he sold them. Honestly he a crap director, brilliant editor, great at finding thematic music but he needs help to make his vision work on screen.

An estimated $72 million, representing a 59% drop. That would have been considered disastrous a few years ago, but now it's fairly normal for a blockbuster movie.

yes that’s pretty standard now. Last Jedi had a bigger drop because it had a bigger opening . Force awakens had only a 33% drop.

It maybe underperforming in January we find out for sure

Another big drop for Star Wars. It's tracking behind where TLJ was at this point.

even though I could see watching the movie again I don’t think we will go to the movies to see it. Like I said the new trilogy kind of seems pointless as part of the skywalker saga.

Looks like 1917 might take some momentum,
I don’t think I could sit through it at the movies so it’ll be a on demand title for us

Is important to remember that war, a perfect storm of establishment however it’s defined starting a war for conquest nobody has clean hands. The d**n treaty of Versailles was intended to keep the war going long enough a few French generals could make a name for themselves but instead that treaty effectively start the countdown to WW2

The Rise of Skywalker is dropping like a stone (though I doubt Disney will lose much sleep over its performance): https://www.forbes.com/sites/travisbean ... ecedented/

publicly Disney will be thrilled , another billion.
Far as why it’s in decline they will talk about too many movies too soon, but they had admitted right after solo they didn’t believe in Star Wars fatigue. Marvel proves it can be done if done right.

Yes, and it went into profit a little while ago. The shareholders and investors are unlikely to be panicking at this time.

Panic , no. They are making money, not the amount they bet on when they bought the franchise.
Sw had their Batman vs Superman moment already this film was the first correction, and mandalorian was leading the way for the rest of the franchised

Doolittle is also doing better than expected, apparently. I'm surprised that anyone would go to see this after that terrible trailer. Especially as it apparently features a scene where RDJ pulls a set of bagpipes out of a dragon's ass. I thought that was a joke when I first read it, but multiple sources have confirmed that it is an actual thing that happens in the movie.

I heard they did a lot of reshoots to make dr. Dolittle more family comedy like. But that’s another problem added to the movie
