Rhythm Section estimated domestic opening weekend: $2.8 million. It's going to need some seriously good WOM to make it's money back. Pity it only has a C+ Cinemascore.

C+ is a kiss of death, the audiences hated it so much they flunked it.

10 N The Rhythm Section Paramount… $2,800,000 3,049 $918 $2,800,000

It’s dropped so much over the last four days I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s actually lower, possibly off the top 10

Birds of prey opens weak , they had hoped for $50-60 million

It’s not a bad movie but it’s a pg13 movie amped up a little to a R rating , Deadpool is a hard R rating designed to be do from the first draft

This movie copies Deadpool a lot. But in a feminist activist way. Probably going to turn off some dc fans, although some women will identify with the crap the girls go though.

One point is birds of prey was supposed to be a thing in this they are back drop comic characters for Harley Quinn’s adventure which is how they sold the movie

I want to see this. It seems to be well-reviewed, and the people I know who have seen it, liked it. But I think the R rating probably hurt it commercially.

We saw it Friday which is unusual for us .

It was fun, and we would watch it again. Think girls night out after a break up meets Deadpool

True fans of the birds of prey series might not be happy, but we don’t have any attachment to any of the characters other than Harley Quinn

Call of the wild was DOA Thursday -Friday, suddenly the narrative is it bounced back, doing better than expected. It still needs $375 million to break even and make money. A minus from CinemaScore, 63% fresh RT.
I’m not sure about the changes Disney made, the dog is supposed to go John wick, although the dog slaughtering native Indians might be too much for today’s audience.

Ok I’m surprised ,

The invisible man I didn’t think would make much, still might not, sonic I knew would linger, call of the wild I thought would fade , my hero academy it’s a big deal for a anime to make the top ten.

Ok follow up on former top 5

birds of prey $195 million world wide, stalled in the owing WB just over $100 million to hit break even.

Bad boys for life $425 million , on $90 million budget , broke even at $270 million, probably made Sony just over $100 million

Call of the wild , still in the top ten , made $115 million, cost $125, owes Disney about $70 million, $375 to break even. But it’s one of the last fox titles that were made before Disney bought them.

Sonic the hedge hog, number 4 this week, mad $296 world wide , cost $90 million , breaks even at $270 if the studio isn’t lying about reshoot /new cgi costs.

I agree. It’s going to be bought day one Vudu Video release. I get why joker is popular, it is rated R and intense, this is rated R and fun, We will watch Birds again, joker we’ll see again but not often like the dark knight trilogy, marvel movies or suicide squad and birds of prey.

I thought birds would close closer to $500 million, like Antman or Shazam.

Ok, virus panic weekend breakdown
It is nuts out here, supermarkets near us are out of bread, bottled water, no Clorox wipes or Lysol. Low on most other foods, heard from family in a bigger city there was no meat, eggs or milk, oh, toilet paper too, in addition to the standard stuff people are hoarding.

I thought bloodshot looked promising, but AMC and other theater chains sent out what we are doing concerning the virus and other promises, in this atmosphere I wouldn’t be surprised if it actually hurts businesses. Right now less than 1000 people out of almost 400 million are sick, even if they do get sick it’s not the Black Death or Ebola. I doubt most people know what the virus symptoms are or what 98% of people will recover with little trouble.

Here are the numbers , a lot of hold overs in the top ten
