I was vaguely aware of it. I think it's yet another bloody prequel.

I think I remember something about it from the books at least I think the Haymitch part of the story mentioned enough for back story . Maybe she wrote a whole separate series after the success of the first book trilogy

Only one movie with a budget over $200 million has made a profit in 2023:

Interesting . I see the early streaming is still the bogeyman of Hollywood . Honestly Hollywood is out of sync with the population, movies I plan two years ago, weren’t what you wanted to see this year . DC just had a bad idea they carried to the fruition. Aquaman may do better business, but then again, it’s a different market than 2018.

The most profitable films of 2023, though the author admits that it's an inexact science:

(Edit: just looked at the date and noticed that it dates back to July).

Apparently, the Mean Girls remake was at number one with $28 million, but Box Office Mojo left off some zeros at the end, and reported it as making $28000!

That’s almost too funny. So the number one movie was misreported as the number 27 movie in North America

It would be *very* surprising if a wide-release studio movie based on an existing IP only made $28000.

Looks like Argylle is underperforming at the box office. Pity, i wanted it to outdo NTTD, I haven't seen it yet, I'm hoping to go next week.

I'm going to see it tomorrow. For me, the draw is Henry Cavill playing a Bond expy, and the fact that it is part of the Kingsman franchise (though I didn't realise that until recently). But I recognise that these are not necessarily things that translate to boffo box office (as they say in Variety). If Henry was actually playing Bond himself, I think it would be a different matter.

Didnr realize it was part of kings man series. Although the name made we think about it , the description didn’t link it

No interest in seeing the Bob Marley movie. Not because I don't like his music, but because once you've seen one music biopic, you've seen them all. It's the most formulaic genre out there.
