I didn't know there was a Kung Fu Panda 4 in the works either. But then, I'm not really the target audience for those films. Is it a public holiday in the US? That's usually when kids' films get released.

Latest Weekend: Mar 22-24
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire $45.2M
Dune: Part Two $17.6M
Kung Fu Panda 4 $16.8M
Immaculate $5.4M
Arthur the King $4.4M
Ghostbusters sequel any good?
Dune 2 , I watching Home video because the first one was kind of a travesty to the original original story. I didn’t think it was well done visually it was stunning, but the story was not true to the novel like other series have been. Honestly, the best version of dune is still the TV series from the 2000s.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire $80.0M
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire $15.7M
Dune: Part Two $11.1M
Kung Fu Panda 4 $10.2M
Immaculate $3.3M
Wow that’s a great launch for a Godzilla movie
Warner Bros/Legendary Entertainment’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has roared to a $194M global opening, of which $114M is from 63 international box office markets. The monster mash exceeded expectations, with over-performance in several offshore areas as well as domestic.
Latest Weekend: Apr 12-14
Civil War $25.7M
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire $15.5M
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire $5.8M
Kung Fu Panda 4 $5.5M
Dune: Part Two $4.3M
For a Godzilla Kong movie it’s still impressive , buts it preforming about where these movie preform.
Dune has done very well, consider how old the story is and how many times it’s been told . I’m not sure they fixed the problems with the first movie to redeem the series . IMHO
Latest Weekend: Apr 19-21
Civil War $11.1M
Abigail $10.2M
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire $9.5M
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare $9.0M
Spy x Family Code: White $4.9M
Spy x family I believe is an anime movie adapted from a series kind of impressive to see in on the top 5
Godzilla x Kong and Civil War are the only two movies I'm familiar with out of those five. I know Abigail is about a vampire, but only because you told me.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
2024 Re-release
$8.1M
Challengers $7.6M
Tarot $6.5M
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire $4.5M
Fall guy I assume is a remake of the tv show
Phantom menace is a rerelease of course. Supplies it did 8 million
Not a lot of movies in the last few months I’m familiar with. I think hollywoods covid policy along with closing theaters for so long changed the industry at a fundamental level.
Imho they are scared of investing money, out side a few known brands will do well. Random low budget, normally horror films, can do well.
But more effort seems to be centered on streaming content.
Since 2020, new movies have lacked imagination and creativity for the most part.

It is, and apparently $28.5 million falls short of even the lowest projections. Studios are hoping it doesn't herald another disastrous summer at the box office.

I don’t know why they’d expect big Bo from a movies based on a tv show nobody in the last two generations has heard of.
Ryan Gosling isn’t a huge draw, most of his movies a not big Bo , as I remember it. Acclaimed , but not huge earners. Barbie is the one biggest I think, but the brand delivered that.
The marketing campaign didn't mention that it was based on a TV show, presumably knowing that it doesn't have much brand recognition nowadays. I guess the thinking was that pairing Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, both A-list stars, in a fun action comedy would be the draw. It does seem to have been well-received by audiences, though probably not well enough to get a word-of-mouth boost.

I was planning to see Deadpool, but I read that you need to have seen a bunch of other films and TV shows in order to understand what's going on. So that put me off.
