The Twelfth Doctor

Who would you choose as the Twelfth Doctor? For me, I would go for either Tom Felton or Nicholas Hoult.

I'm not ready for the 12th Doctor (does that sound geeky). I think Smith is doing a great job, even if not all of his stories match his first series and i'd like him to stay for a few more series.

I'd never heard of Matt Smith before he was cast as The Doctor, and I only knew David Tennant from his small role in a Harry Potter film. Chances are, the next Doctor will be a virtual unknown, but I trust the showrunner to make the right decision.

Chris Eccleston was in 28 Days Later.

I don't know if next Doctor should be a woman or not.

It will be a younger actor as I don't think they would cast an older actor now.

Ugh! Was that from Seagals Womens Day Advert !?!

My perfect candidate is one that already turned it down (according to rumours) and who career is taking off so it's probably a no go, Benedict Cumberbatch.
I would not be surprised if Moffat made Jenna-Louise Coleman the next Doctor since Time Lords can project their next regeneration., however I would be surprised if Mr Smith stays on beyond his contracted time since he has been so eager to be off to Hollywood since the day he was cast. I would think we will get the 12th Doctor some time this year as part of a anniversary special.

It's rumoured that the 12th Doctor will be announced next month. I think it's more likely that they make make a one-off Doctor Who Confidential to announce who Smith's replacement ( :( ) is.

My only hope is they do not pick now to do a female regeneration. So much ground work has been done in the last few seasons, it a growing possibility since Tom Baker first made a jokes about it.

Sad part of this is Matt has grown on me this last half season. Que Sera, Sera.

I saw a new item saying that "James Bond star to be new Doctor" and thought oh no! But it was Rory Kinnear.

I've seen those reports too. Last I heard, it was just an unconfirmed rumour, unless the official announcement was made late last night.

Nothing personal against the man, I can't see him in the role at all.

I'll be watching the announcement on Sunday. :yay: It is between Peter Capaldi and Idris Elba, but those rumours may be a red herring. Idris Elba is linked with everything. He will be probably be "rumoured" to be Batman. :D

I think it will be someone not very well known, like the last two. I'd never heard of Matt Smith before he became The Doctor, and only knew David Tennant for his brief role in Harry Potter.

I was almost certain they would go for a young actor again.
