DAVID Tennant's term as the Time Lord may be coming to a close but the tenth Doctor is set to star in a new animated adventure.

The six-part cartoon series, Dreamland, will see David Tennant, 38, voicing a cartoon Doctor as he visits notorious alien crash site Roswell.

The story, penned by Torchwood writer Phil Ford, will see the time traveller discovering a mysterious alien artefact at a US diner and attempting a rescue from the American military.

Joining him on his adventure will be assistant Cassie Rice, played by Georgia Moffett - David Tennant's off-screen girlfriend.

Georgia, 24, the daughter of fifth Doctor Peter Davison, also played the Time Lord's fictional daughter Jenny in the BBC sci-fi hit's fourth series.

Executive producer Russell T Davies said: "Dreamland is a remarkable project and I'm thrilled with it. Phil Ford is a wonderful writer and promises to send the Doctor into a whole new visual dimension."

David Tennant is set to hand over the Tardis to incoming Doctor Matt Smith following this year's Christmas special.

Dreamland will be premiered as six seven-minute episodes via the BBC Red Button and the Doctor Who website.

It will then return as a single show on CBBC and BBC2 in the autumn.

In the run-up to the show's launch fans will be able to get follow the cartoon's progress on a behind-the-scenes production blog via the Doctor Who website.

There is a better picture of David wearing a tuxedo where he looks very Bond like. His companion even remarked on it, although it is quite evident that this is classic 007 comparison and not a current one.

David is a fan of the Bond series said he would love to play a villain in it. As any true fan would I suppose. Most fans are not arrogant enough to assume they could or should be 007 but are more than willing to be there for the series as a baddie.
