McCoy and Pertwee are about equal in my estimation, but I'm going to go with the crowd to speed up the game.

No. Not really. Ol' Bill Hartnell was very upset when he didn't get the Dr. Who movies.

How come the older series are not on TV now? I remember some of the Baker/Pertwee episodes were on BBC2 in daytime when Doctor Who was not being made. I though these might be shown on BBC4 as that channel shows lots of cult TV such as The Avengers and The Prisioner.

Sad part is unarguably two of the best doctors have the worst departure stories. Jon Pertwee's regeneration has a sad dramatic tone, possibly avoidable death however the Doctor faced it head on none the less. I think this was what RTD was attempting to do and missed.

Maybe David Tennant will get a second bite at the apple if the USA Doctor Who happens.

I saw bits of Planet of the Spiders when I was little, but don't really remember it. It was really Robot that piqued my interest (I know that story is not highly regarded by fans, but I was only 7 at the time) and The Ark In Space was the first story I watched all the way through. The "hand covered in green bubble wrap" shot frightened the bejeebers out of me at the time, laughable as it may seem now.

I loved Robot! Of course I loved everything to do with robots as a little boy, adding them to Doctor who made it even better. I haven't watched Robot in years it was Tom first show and that endeared it to me along with Sara Jane being so sad her Doctor was dead and this new one was so strange and didn't remember her and was trying to leave. What Sara Jane felt was exactly how we felt after the sliver-haired man of action morphed into a extra from Sinbad

Go ahead an call it. We had a great run with it. Now it is down to me lamenting David and Tom's last shows :(
Jon Pertwee deserves the 3rd place althou the 7th and 5th Doctors had a good run too.
