Agree with the first 2, but I'm not sure the third one was a "jab" so much as another example of the Craig films recycling bits of older films and calling it a homage.

And don't forget the signature gun, which had been used in LTK.

Since Babs took over there has been a steady stream of references in the Bond films. They started out as a sort of wink and a nod until DAD when they went overboard, with CR she dialed it back, but then ratcheted up again with QOS and peaked again with skyfall. As i have said in another post these films have become like the "Remember the 80's/90's" shows on american television. Instead of substance they rely on "hey I remember that from bond movie X". Which I find quite annoying.

Babs is the type of b1tch who gets away with everything, especially after what she did to Pierce.

I'm not saying I won't be seeing B24, but I won't pay for it and I'm not excited about it. I will just download it via torrent and see it. Then, I can judge how it looks like. But, to hurt EON, I won't be buying their product! Won't be paying any cent to their objects! That's how I will treat them until decency to their enterprises will be dragged in.

Not just CR-egg, but the entire EON enterprises, if you ask me. That's how I would've done.

Just watched Skyfall for the second and last time and it was just as terrible as the first time I saw it. No plot, drags on forever, and is way too edgy to the point where it doesn't feel like a Bond movie at all. The climax of the movie is a booby trapped house? They might as well have called it James Bond Home Alone.

And on a more serious note. I like Daniel Craig as James Bond. However, I don't like the way that they have re-written the character away from the actual bond personality. Craig looks the part and has what it takes, but they seem to be content with making him appear as a robot on the screen with no emotion, charm, or swagger. Which is the essence of who James Bond is supposed to be. Craig is not charming with any of the ladies at all. Also, it seems more to me like they're turning the films into the bourne supremacy. If I want to see Jason Bourne, I'll go watch Jason Bourne. And they seem to have no intention of bringing the bond gadgets back, which is always a highlight of the film. I could go on and on.

The whole thing was a long time coming if you want to be realistic about it. I loved all the old Bond flicks and appreciate them for what they are. But the novels have long since run dry and they are getting so far away from the vision, that I can't watch it anymore. After watching this sorry excuse for a film, I'm done. And Quantum of Solace did suck, but nowhere near as bad as this one. Casino Royale was fantastic, and they let bond be charming in that one. I'd rather just stick to watching the old flicks and remember 007 as being 007 then watch these studio guys continue to try to milk the franchise for every dollar that its worth. Bottom line, it's NOT James Bond anymore.

Cheers Connery, Moore, Dalton (most under-rated), and Brosnan, thanks for the memories. I'm not even upset about it, there are still roughly 20 flicks available to watch every now and then :)

The biggest things is... both CR and Skyfall were praised by (paid) critics and were called best Bonds ever. I mean did the world really lost the sense of any intelligence? How the hell could a movie that has Bond(the guy who is coincedentally called James Bond) and doesn't give a d**n about his vodka martini could be even called a Bond movie is just beyond me.and skyfall? An incredibly over-hyped movie that is just empty and bland...and to put it quite simply the movie that critics were probably paid huge money to write pisitive reviews.I would say the same thing about CR..

Someone commented on imDb:"Skyfall?Well,of course it is"..

Can I just say that I don't buy the "critics were paid off" theory that is so often pushed here? If that was the case, all the studios would be doing it and we'd never see a badly-reviewed blockbuster, which manifestly isn't the case. Rather, I think it got the good reviews it did because it pushed the buttons of the sort of middlebrow movie critics who don't normally praise big studio movies, and certainly not Bond films.

That kind of makes sense...but it's just...don't critics know what REAL Bond is like?

In their eyes, real Bond is trashy, pulpy and not at all the sort of thing that respectable people ought to be wasting their time on. Which is all true, of course, but they make it out to be a bad thing.
