Bond producers deny rumours Muse were considered for 'Skyfall' theme Muse Tickets
Adele was always first choice, although Amy Winehouse was wanted
Many Muse fans believe that 'Supremacy', which features on new album 'The 2nd Law', was possibly in contention to be the Bond theme given its similarity to past 007 songs. However, speaking from the Skyfall premiere in London last night, producers of the Bond movie said that Adele was always their sole choice to sing the theme tune, although they would have liked to have been able to ask Amy Winehouse.
Asked about Muse by Metro, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson said: "No, Adele was always our first choice." Talking about Winehouse, Broccoli added: "She's an enormous artist still today. It's a tragic ending to her life but she's with us forever."
Daniel Craig, who plays Bond, previously revealed he cried the first time he heard Adele's 'Skyfall', telling Yahoo: "From the opening bars I knew immediately, then the voice kicked in and it was exactly what I'd wanted from the beginning. It just got better and better because it fitted the movie. In fact the more of the movie we made, the more it fitted it."
