Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
Re: Bond News Of The Day Thread
Seen a couple of Bond-themed ads on TV tonight. one for 007 aftershave, and a rather strange one for Heineken™, featuring a bloke running away from some other blokes on a train while Craig sits there smirking and drinking Heineken™.

This is the commercial I was on about. If you can understand what the bloody hell is going on, you're a better man than I am.

I had to look another time, but I think this is the progression:Kristatos wrote:This is the commercial I was on about. If you can understand what the bloody hell is going on, you're a better man than I am.

1. Craig/Bond walks by another guy who's dressed very similar
2. Thugs chase the other guy.
3. The other guy goes through the train, which has parodies of classic Bond images (the type that the series has now outgrown, except when it hasn't). We see a cameo of Dr. No, courtesy of CGI.
4. Other guy eventually meets up with Craig/Bond again.
5. Thugs are now chasing Craig/Bond, other guy is with Severine.
6. Ending has Craig/Bond using a Union Jack parachute as he jumps off train.

Re: Bond News Of The Day Thread
Sad part is the guy running is cooler than Bond. Craig lamely offering hims a beer then is chased by the guys who were supposed to be chasing him from the start, bright college educated henchmen who some how confused middle aged guy with gym coach hair cut with a young cool guy. Severine look very happy cool guy chased off "oh no, it's like I'm kissing my father" Bond.Napoleon Solo wrote:I had to look another time, but I think this is the progression:Kristatos wrote:This is the commercial I was on about. Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
This place did a major write up on the commercial. One thing struck me as odd the producers talked about how busy Daniel was, etc, busy doing what exactly he's got nothing lined up, he finished filming Skyfall months ago. To me it says he didn't want to do this as the first rumours was when he initially heard about the beer deal he was angry about it.
My take on the advertisement is it perplexing, in some ways it's trying to harken back to the Olympics jump. Not as bad if Daniel had tried to do all these comical stunts across the train cars still he seemed stuck up in way. He did try to smile so that is something I guess. Pierce would have handed him a vodka martini with a smile and it would have conveyed his appreciation for what the young man endured. Handing over a bottle of Heineken seems sorry mate I'm a bit skint just now.

Holy cow, did you see those credits? Almost as many for a 60-second slot as for an actual Bond film, and they don't even list the cast.

Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
So, some random guy gains magical Bond-like abilities by merely bumping into Craig? Right...
Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
I wonder if the actor who plays Cool Guy wasn't credited because they don't want people calling for him to be Bond instead of Craig.

Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
This is how I understand it:
President of Russia (Vladimir Putin) is being chased/followed
Putin bumps into 007
Thugs now chase 007 onto a train
007 meets up with the President of Russia again
Putin gives 007 briefcase and jumps off the train
Leaving 007 with a girl, a briefcase, and a Heineken

Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
Cr-egg jumping off the train at the end= him bailing out of the role finally. By the way, Berenice looks plastic acting as a Bond girl. Denise Richards even appears better suited, and that is stretch.

Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
Headline here needs to be James Bond Finally Returns in Heineken Commercial. Tall, dark, hansom gentleman of action returns after long hiatus.
That young man clearly is Bond, don't believe me ask Ian Fleming.
Out of this line up I know for damned sure who'd he pick.

Re: Bond Heineken Commercial First Reveal
We've come to a point where a random young man in a commercial represents more of what Bond should look/be like, than the actual actor that was selected to play Bond. These casting choices are truly bizarre to say the least. It seems as if the producers are just randomly selecting people off the street. The actors/actresses don't even come close to resembling the characters of the older films. It's almost like when children use a doll or stuffed animal to represent a certain character when they're playing pretend. In this case, Barbara and Michael are playing pretend with real people.
