I wonder if this decision is solely out of possible spoiler concerns.

I'd imagine it's because they didn't think a Skyfall novelisation would sell. If spoilers were the concern, they could just not release it until the film's release date.

I found a copy of License to Kill book  Not sure when I'll get to read it.
I imagine they think it would not sell over spoilers honestly in a few months everybody is going to know whats what and the short shelf life of tie ins will be dead.

We could write an unofficial Skyfall novelization.

Anyone care to incorporate Sadowitz as Bond into the story as though he is set to replace DC's Bond as the new agent to take over as 007?

You can, if you'd like. Personally, I'd rather stay away from in-jokes that might alienate newcomers to the forum.

Kris is on to something here.
Skyfall: The Unofficial Novelisation
We have 'Turkish Train Incident' and the spoilers to use as fodder.

Chapter Two: Turkish Delight ?
Dial M for Mommy?
The Adventures Of Gray Beard?
Buzz Cut; the sequel?

I have a few idea at the tip of my mind, Kris managed to capture the essence of it. We all could have ago we'll see if the monkeys at DcinB can cobble together a manuscript

Chapter 3 should be titled 007 Replacement, and the focus is on M finding another 00 to replace DC's Bond.

This going way off topic for the 'Skyfall' forum, I was thinking of a chapter introducing Eve as the new 007 after the last 007 got in trouble (chapter 1 by Kris)

See I wondered if QOS would not be better if a book had been published, I guess if SF fails it might say something about how slowly the scripts are made ready, so slow a book could not be made and too late to fix the problems.

About the possible spoilers I don't believe it unless they are paranoid to the extreme. But if there is a video game of SF coming I believe there is one, then it will be a better spoiler material than the book. Testing the game and all the various pope who have access to parts of the game.

Love how this is coming together. I can see in my mind how I want to introduce Eve 007, if someone else has the next chapter go ahead, put it up

I'm staring at a blank screen trying to find a start.

Blowfeld....you think you can incorporate Sadowitz Bond into the story as he's one of the candidates to replace DC's Bond as 007?

I'm thinking:

Chapter 3: we go back to "the present" and Bond quits. Lots of opportuntiies for "I knew I couldn't trust you" type of stuff.

Chapter 4: Back to 1979. The future M's plan is carried out, they do get Luis Silva but Andrew and Monique Bond are killed. That leaves us with two grieving boys, young Raoul Silva and young Bond. M, having enough of this retires. Admiral Hargreaves is named his replacement but Mawdsley is on the MI6 fast track.
