I looked for embedded links, either in the body text or in the sig line, but I didn't find any. That's usually the giveaway, along with messages containing random bits of text that have nothing to do with the discussion at hand (these do seem to bear some relationship to the topic of this thread). If it is a bot, it's hard to tell what the purpose is.

I would have approved the post as well. It could be they were looking for spoilers and ran across our fiction.

Where does the story go now? Are we at the chase Kris wanted to pen?

Kristatos wrote:I've had another stab at breaking the rest of the film down into chapters, based on the latest information. As before, this is meant as a guideline rather than a straitjacket, so feel free to ignore it if it becomes restrictive. Numbers in parentheses refer to the scene numbers in the shooting outline, or so I am informed :spy:

Chapter 19: The start of a new day, a rainy and gloomy one, naturally (31-33)
Chapter 20: Bond meets Lucia at a funeral in Rome and seduces her (34-41)
Chapter 21: Bond enters the villain's lair (42-44)
Chapter 22: Car chase in Rome (45-59)
Chapter 23: The vote for Nine Eyes in Japan (60-60B)
Chapter 24: Bond literally bores Mr White to death in Austria (61-67)
Chapter 25: The 00 section is disbanded. Bond goes rouge (sic), just for a change (71A-73B)
Chapter 26: Bond meets Madeleine, bodges the meeting and sees her being kidnapped by Stockman/Oberhauser/Blofeld/Dr Evil's henchmen. (78-80)
Chapter 27: Another car/plane chase (81-97)
Chapter 28: Bond and Madeleine meet Q back at his hotel and find that C has been made King of All Spies (99-107B)
Chapter 29: Bond and Madeleine go a-sleuthing in Tangier (108-117D)
Chapter 30: Train fight, from Morocco with love (118-138)
Chapter 31: Bond and Madeleine in the Crater Observatory (139-143A)
Chapter 32: Dr Evil explains his plan, instead of just shooting Bond when he has the chance (144-146)
Chapter 33: Bond goes rouge again - and M joins him (151-151C)
Chapter 34: Bond kills Moriarty (152-153C)
Chapter 35: Bond goes after Dr Evil (153C-191)
Chapter 36: Bond and Madeleine chase Dr Evil's helicopter in a speedboat (191A-198)
Chapter 37: Coda (201-203)

Again, these are just suggestions. I hope people find them helpful, but if not, there is absolutely no obligation to be bound by them.

According to Kris' outline it's funeral, Spectre salesman's conference at the Ramada Inn, then chase.

I must confess, I had kind of forgotten about the novelisation. Sorry, folks.

Crap, forgot to mention the two bodyguards. Looks like I'll have to go back and edit, as this little detail sets up the car chase.

Yes, that was the idea I've been banging on about. Hope I didn't oversell it, but it pretty much sums up my feelings on Skyfall, and SPECTRE will probably be more of the same.

At least I didn't need the two bodyguards after all.

Hey everyone. I just wrote a chapter of my own and only just read this thread afterwards. I hope I've not interrupted your plan for the chapters. Feel free to move my bit out if desired. :)

ARGH! Edit - "Hope I've NOT interrupted", NOT "Hope I've interrupted"- I'm getting as delirious as Bond!

I was just thinking that it needed a new chapter. I tried to write one myself, but I couldn't find anything to parody in the next bit of the movie.

You're welcome to it! My attempts at adding a chapter were fizzling out, somehow I have half an alternate teaser trailer.

I'm starting to wonder if my latest chapter wouldn't have been funnier if, instead of the poetry reading, Mr White had kept interrupting his suicide attempt to issue a string of Ralph Wiggum-style non sequiturs ("my cat's breath smells of cat food"). The "kite in a hurricane" line is so out of the blue that I can only assume that the writers were simply unwilling to let it go.

You're spot on about that line Kris, the writer must have felt it was far too existential, deep, and "bad ass" to just let go to fall by the wayside, and just had to cram it in there somewhere!

The "kill your babies" rule is writing 101, though. If you can't fit it into the script in a way that works, drop it.

Just put another chapter up. The title pretty much sums up my feelings on the source material, a collection of boring, nothingy scenes that help bridge gaps in the plot, but little else. I was pretty pleased with the Moneypenny gag/TLD reference, but most of it is just lazy snark, and I feel a bit of a hypocrite for castigating the lame jokes in the script when my own efforts are equally pedestrian.

I wouldn't feel too bad about it Kris. (Says the man who's far more guilty of it than you) When spoofing something one needs to be as refined or less so than the source material, or else it's less of a spoof and more of an improvement!

I'd love to improve it, though! I'd be very happy indeed if someone read my chapters and said "this is better than the actual script". It's much easier to tear down the work of others than it is to show what a Bond film should be like.

You're absolutely right Kris, it is better to build up than tear down, but to write better than EON (which isn't too hard to do) would turn this more in to "fan fiction" rather than a "spoof". I don't know is that the Intended purpose of these unofficial novels?

If I was starting again from scratch, I would combine the two approaches. It would be a spoof, but it would also give the reader an idea of what the film should have been like. Oh well, too late now.
