We've known that Nightfire has stirred the gamers a decade ago when it was released on multiple platforms, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the cinematic James Bond 007 series. While being a strong hit at the gaming market for two years, it didn't manage to overcome GoldenEye 007's success at all, which, for many people, remains the best product in the series of all. However, as of 2013, a team of developers have been creating the game for Valve Corporations' Source engine, with an early alpha version of the game is released on Steam, already. The developers focus on the PC version of the game more than they do on the console release, but it's reported that they won't be just porting the PC game into a newer engine, but will try to create a fair balance between the two versions created by Eurocom and Gearbox Software. Currently, the project is in development and some maps from the console edition are being recreated for Nightfire: Source. Each multiplayer map, however, contains an all new background music composed by Yannick Zenhäusern, who's no stranger to the Bond music at all, as he recently released his licensed 00-Status album, containing tonnes of Bond themes he composed for both GoldenEye: Source, Nightfire: Source and some independent other theme tunes.

"Dalton makes an effective Bond - lacking Sean Connery's grace and humor, and Roger Moore's suave self-mockery, but with a lean tension and a toughness that is possibly more contemporary" - Roger Ebert
