Murdoch empire crumbles

Post by The Sweeney »

The breaking news on this story is unfolding quicker than the editing cuts in QoS.
Two CEO'S resign in one day, and the Murdoch's to face a trail of sorts on Tuesday.

Ayone else shocked by how this is progressing? Is this the end of News Corp?

Murdoch was always a tosser but they'll never do more than inconvenience him. s**t like him always walks away vindicated by the system. Some other poor SOBs will by necessity fall on their sword.

Now they just found a whistleblower dead. Police are saying that it's not a suspicious death, but it only makes the entire affair look worse.

It's not the end of Murdoch. He's not covering for anyone, he's going around apologizing, and he's shutting down news services. People are resigning and the farther Murdoch throws these people under the proverbial bus the better for him.

Like many things it has become a political issue. People on the left want Murdoch to go down in flames because he owns Fox News. MSNBC is making a bunch of ado over it, but they keep mum about MSNBC basically being subsidized the past few years by the U.S. government because there parent company (General Electric) got primo tax breaks. GE paid zero federal income tax last fiscal year and their CEO is on Obama's economics advisory board.

Murdoch is at the top and he is responsible for things that happen under his watch. Criticism and anger are fair game, but I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think he belongs in a orange jumpsuit and locked up. If CEO's and owners were locked up every time something egregious happens in a news room then Pinch Sulzberger, Mel Karmazin, Ted Turner, Les Moonves, etc. would all be in orange jumpsuits.
