I know Kirstie Alley and the Travoltas are good friends. On one of the episodes of her show her kids were trying to plan her birthday party and were talking about inviting John Travolta.

It is not that they like it. Scientology has a very active recruiting program for young actors. They are banking on the fact that some of them are going to become successful and then customers of the Church of Scientology. Scientology even has a very special 'church" for actors so that they can get cleard in private.
