To me, he'll always be the fellow from Jurassic Park. It would be nice if he joins the 4th film.

RIP Joan Rivers dead at 81.
She seemed to have such a good prognosis recently too.

Her prognosis was never good. She was most likely brain dead after 1 hour but they kept it quiet. Yorkville Endoscopy is in big trouble now: http://www.yorkville-endoscopy.com/staff.html

When the news first broke my thoughts were RIP. The day before she died it was words like positive, recovery. The reality I don't believe changed even though the reports were more optimistic than they should be.bjmdds wrote:Her prognosis was never good. RIP actor Sir Donald Sinden aged 90. (Donald is on the right)
Also RIP Ian Paisley who was a hardline Protestant politician in Northern Ireland who ended up in government with Sinn Fein/ProvIRA which was very surprising.

Scotland votes No to independence
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-29270441
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-29270441
Scotland has voted to stay in the United Kingdom after voters decisively rejected independence.
With the results in from all 32 council areas, the "No" side won with 2,001,926 votes over 1,617,989 for "Yes".
This margin of victory for the Better Together campaign - 55% to 45% - was greater by about 3% than that anticipated by the final opinion polls. The winning total needed was 1,852,828........
BBC political editor Nick Robinson said that although the result was decisive, the constitutional implications were far from settled.
He said: "The fact that over 1.5m British citizens voted to break away from the rest of the UK, the fact that a majority in Scotland's biggest city - Glasgow - backed independence, the fact that the Westminster establishment briefly thought this vote was lost, is the reason for that."

Re: Breaking News Thread
News about the recent cop killings not being prosecuted got me thinking. IMO over a racial issue, cops killing the "suspect" (already guilty if they are a suspect) are not doing because of race, IMO the grand juries are not letting them go because they are white rather because they are cops.
The blue shield is creating a class of citizen above their fellow man, in all levels of government.
IMO the Ferguson cop was a punk who got scared and shot a young man on a bad drug trip. Yes the young man was probably violent but listening to the cops interview I don't believe a word of his excuses, I think it all happened so fast he doesn't remember how it happened exactly so he rehearsed a statement with the department lawyers.
In NYC I don't know why they were bothering to arrest that man selling smokes, he wasn't hurting anyone even if a few people avoided paying NYC tax on cigs. Watching that video I don't know how a manslaughter charge was not found.
One thing I'd like to point out is cops feel too free to use force in way too many situations. yes they do a dangerous job and keep our communities safe so our children can grow up in a safe an environment as possible.
In the local area, even more wide spread to the region of the south I've hear of several cases a year where the swat team or cops raid a hours killing people because they were high and barricaded themselves usually in their trailer. Usually they are white trash who had a bad trip and got in fight with their common law wife before the cops were called, in a few hours when the high wore off they could arrest him (usually a man) with a girl scout troupe. But they chose to force a violent end to the situation.
It happens every year and nobody in these protest groups care,
IMHO The poor people (in MO and NYC) were not killed because they were black, they were killed because they were poor and not in the protected class of being a cop. I think the divide of justice in this country is more in the line of wealth over race. Rich kids over every ethnicity get a break a drugs and other charges when poor kids of every colors get their lives ruined.
