Re: Breaking News Thread
This is one of the only links to anyone covering the story. Too many vets don't know about this.
For some besides being the main email for benefits and other important programs it's a link to pals in and out of the service.

I'm so pissed about this. There is no good reason all a big F'U from Uncle Sam

Re: Breaking News Thread
Isn't The Blaze Glenn Beck's site? In which case, the reason nobody else is covering the story is probably that it's bollocks. (Edit: I had a look at the comments thread, and the story appears to be making something out of nothing. One veteran said he retired in 1975 and had never heard of the site that is apparently being replaced).

Re: Breaking News Thread
I don't know who runs it from the name I thought it was a gay news mag.
This is happening the ako is gutting out the retired, families and other vets. A guy who retired in 1975 isn't going to have ako.
The army isn't making a big deal of this but they are doing it. Other agency's are informing a lot of the vet so they don't get lock out of the programs. It's supposed to be about security still no reason they'd flush all the vets. It was supposed to be a secure way to alway be able to get important email.

Accounts are being deemed inactive to close them out. Its circular logic only a bureaucrat could dream up. It's f'd up. Vets are being notified but by places like tricare telling them for the first time the secured email they we encouraged to use is going to be purged and they need to get a civilian email setup with the account so access in not lost

I thought the honours list was normally announced on New Year's Day. Why is it a day early?Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25550751

Perhaps to stop the Murder She Wrote reboot

Re: Breaking News Thread
The latest is that the story that Hoffman was the subject of a death hoax 24 hours before his actual death is itself a hoax. Or something. I'm confused.

Re: Breaking News Thread
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A man who says he broke two teeth when he bit into some mashed potatoes is suing at Outback Steakhouse restaurant in Portland, Ore.
Roger Branstetter says there were bits of broken porcelain in the food in February 2012 when he cracked two molars, and he says a manager admitted that bits of a broken plate had fallen into the potatoes.
Branstetter is suing the restaurant for $48,000 in Multnomah County Circuit Court.
A managing partner of the Evergreen Restaurant Group that owns the franchise, Jason Bender, told The Oregonian (http://is.gd/xnMhLP ) he couldn't speak in detail about the case, but hadn't heard of any other customers with a similar complaint. He says safety is very important to the restaurant.

No idea who he was but dear god he did not look healthy!
Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
