Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)

does anyone get knighted that is not an actor? used to be that being knighted was for like lord and generals

He was very good in a dual role as Claudius and Hamlet Sr. in the RSC production of Hamlet with David Tennant, which I watched on TV on Boxing Day.

Lots of businessmen, politicians etc get a Knighthood. A peerage - to become a Lord - entitles someone to sit in the House of Lords which is the UK version of the Senate.
