Not a big fan myself but I would hate for anything to happen to him or any of the popular pundits out there.

Radio Host Limbaugh Hospitalized In Hawaii: Report
By REUTERS

Filed at 12:09 a.m. ET

HONOLULU (Reuters) - Top conservative U.S. radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a hospital in Hawaii on Wednesday with chest pains, a local television station reported.

KITV television station said Limbaugh was in serious condition at Honolulu's The Queen's Medical Center after being treated at a hotel by paramedics, citing unnamed sources.

Hospital administration coordinator Wendy Rogers told Reuters she could not comment on the report. Due to patient confidentiality rules, it is up to patients to decide if they want information to be released, she added.

Limbaugh, a popular but controversial voice in American politics, was vacationing in Hawaii at the same time as Democratic President Barack Obama and his family.

Limbaugh's program, one of the highest rated in talk radio, is broadcast over 600 stations nationwide and is known for lambasting Democratic policies and politicians.

Limbaugh, 58, has suffered from medical problems in the past decade, including a loss of hearing reversed by a cochlear, or electronic hearing device, implant, and an addiction to painkillers.

Honolulu, Hawaii (CNN) -- Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was taken to a Honolulu hospital with chest pains Wednesday, a show staffer said.

"Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains," Kit Carson, the chief of staff for the Rush Limbaugh Show, said.

A source at the Queen's Medical Center told CNN that Limbaugh was admitted late afternoon in "serious condition" and is expected to stay overnight.

The hospital itself would not confirm or deny that Limbaugh was taken there.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department, would only say that a man was taken from the Kahala Hotel and Resort at 2:41 p.m.

"Whether it was Rush Limbaugh, we cannot say," he said.

Limbaugh was staying at the resort at the time.

Limbaugh's attorney, Roy Black, told CNN he had heard about the hospital trip from media reports. "We are worried about it," he said.

Limbaugh's radio show is broadcast on more than 600 stations and is heard by more than 13.5 million listeners each week.

Last year, he struck a deal with Clear Channel Communications to extend his contract through 2016. The deal is worth more than $400 million.

I'm not a fan either, but I'm glad that he seems to be OK. I don't wish any harm to come to him.

I agree, but in some ways it's a case of the biter bit, since no-one is more responsible for creating the current overheated political climate and lowering political discourse to the level of a playground argument than Limbaugh (with the possible exception of Matt Drudge).

See. I don't know that is a fair characterization. Sure he throws Bombs. But I think the nastiness in out system is down to what George Washington warned us about, the two party system. Sometime probably starting in the 70s or 80s they figured out uniting their base and media manipulation, the press hasn't caught on to the fact they are dupes and it has gotten worse with the explosion of the new media where the old media are lagging behind and when they do catch up it is a case of Me Too.

For more than 20 years both parties send out their hacks to do interviews, and the press think they do a good job if they have one from each party talke for an equal amount of time are yell at each other and or talk over each other for the same amount of time. Its all crap.

The parties now operate on the basis of what is good for them and their future, not the country. So we get bills like the health care and the pork party bills of the last year. Which are about Party protection and bolstering their base not actually fixing any of the problems in health care, like the lawyers and hospitals administration.

The problem i see is we are exporting our brand of politics to the world, partly because they work on the small scale and short term, and other politicians see it and want that kind of job security and power, and some of it is like when Bill Clinton sent James Carville to Israel to destabilize their election and try to get somebody he could work with better. It worked, the election did turn they way they wanted, but the results still didn't do what they desired.

But the real problem is when somebody is elected on a national or state lever, they are no longer John Q Citizen, they are Dem or Repub, first and they parties make d**n sure they know it, and do what the parties want or they will hurt them personally or their district personally, like the threat Obama made recently to a Dem representative. It should be the other way around, that is the only way our system can work, IMHO.

The best political talk show I've seen was the old Dennis miller show on Cnbc before the canned it to put on a lower rated show. for half an hour they be 4 to 5 people there discussion things, for some reason that show got beyond the party talking points (maybe because they thought nobody was watchin), the top Californian dem would agree with the Repub and the top repub with a dem about some problem, talking more on personal level than a party level, and it go back an forth in a much more productive way.

The worst and nastiest of work I ever saw on tv was Al Franken, long before he ran for office, somthing like the early 2000s. It was a series of days or perhaps weeks and every time he was on he for whatever reason couldn't hid his absolute bile. It didn't matter on what it was just a nasty response from him on a personal level.

I don't like the two party system either (this excellent article sums up my views on the topic better than I could), but it has been around a lot longer than Limbaugh, and discourse was far more civil for the majority of its existence.

The article was pretty good. And accurate as far as the indoctrination of the party member once they reach the capital, Dc or their state. The far left somehow seem to think the frd socialist plans have been undone. when they actually have been expanded.

The insurance and pharam were on board with the obama rewrite from the start, which has now become another bail out for something too big to fail.

The problem with teh FDR type social engineering is the cost have ballooned, 90% of it is the governments fault. They made the laws and enforced them. When everyone is talking about how much better the cash price is at the hospital, we have a giant problem.

Now I know our insurance has a similar deal with the hospital. I've seen the statements sent in to teh insurance co, then what insurance has agreed to pay, and then what was dropped from the price. Sometimes it is thousands of dollars, which the consumer never see the benefit of. and if the insurance dosn't cover some procedure you can bet the consumer will see the full inflated price of the hospital mark up. These are the things needing reform and that will not be touched for teh sake of political power.

I think we strayed from topic, but it feels good to vent it.Since i don't want to start a new topic i'll just add what the hell is wrong with harry Reid . What eh said about obama is just plan creepy. Like a 1930s racist documenting how inferior a race is.

I could answer that, but I'm not sure the answer is fit to print. Still, on the plus side, he's probably the most unifying figure in today's polarised political climate, since both Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals can all agree that he's a jerk.

No doubt about it. I find it a little alarming how they are trying to circle the wagons around him and bring out all of his "black friends" to defend him,. They know he is toast, he wont win reelection and he is hurting the party by staying.

But what really bothers me is they say it all ok because Barack gave him Absolution, when it was the American people he insulted. The american people didn't care about his race or his islamic name, not as deciding factor anyway.

One other thing I wish is they stop relying on the Bush admin as a crutch for every problem. when something goes wrong this administration always comes out and starts off with it's bush's fault, the last eight years, previous whatever. FIrst because yeah we get it bush was a screw up, maybe not a completely he did some things right, but overall thats why we wanted "change" and second the american people voted for him, it happened, its over now, let it go. he doesn't have to wag a finger ever week at the population cause bush was president. Some times we don't have a good choice for president.

for me its not about forgiving him or not, I don't think he is a racist and I don't think what he said was as bad a what Trent Lott said. What reid said was just creepy perhaps disturbed

But the spin put on it of Obama has forgiven him so its all good now bothers me a little

Reid is done, he will not win reelection I just think it is a waste of political capital to defend him
