Joey Chestnut has downed 69 franks and devoured his own record in the annual Coney Island hot dog eating contest.

BEST IN CHOW
How many hot dogs are too many? Not 69 for new record-holder and seven-time champ Joey Chestnut. Catch the gluttonous scene from Coney Island.
The San Jose, Calif., man known as Jaws scarfed down the dogs and buns to win the Fourth of July men's contest. He takes home $10,000 and a mustard-yellow champion's belt.

Sonya Thomas, a 100-pound dynamo known as the "Black Widow" of competitive eating, wolfed down nearly 37 wieners for a narrow victory in the women's competition .http://col.stb00.s-msn.com/i/B4/B55627C ... 66C02C.jpg

A sort of curry, which was more Indian that Thai in flavor(with bell pepper, onion, carrot and potato-maybe that's more typically Thai?) and mango chicken(breaded chicken with a sauce that was really good.

That's not going to appear on the 99p menu at McDonalds anytime soon.

http://www.bahamabreeze.com/images/pict ... k_ribs.jpg I will "ett" this Saturday at a New Jersey Bahama Breeze restaurant. They are owned by the Darden group that also owns the Red Lobster, the Longhorn Steakhouse, the Olive Garden, and a few other chains. I never "ett" here before so I will see how it goes. Tropical Island atmosphere with LIVE musician all night. http://www.bahamabreeze.com/

Not a big fan of Olive Garden(save for the soup, salad and breadsticks)/I haven't been to Red Lobster for a long time(love the cheddar biscuits!) and we don't have any Longhorn Steakhouses in my area(AFAIK.a shame..I do like a good steak!)

That's surprising..we have some really good pizza here, and some really mediocre pizza as well. I only trust certain places.

San Diego has a Little Italy-operative word being "little"-it's a bunch of Italian restaraunts with a churrascuria(sp.?) and British pub thrown in there. There is at least one place there-Fillipi's-which has been there forever-when you walk in the front is a Italian deli-truly, it's like something you'd see in New York!

I don't think any of the places in our Little Italy do so, but there are a few places elsewhere in San Diego that-no lie-import New York tap water.Seriously.Because that-supposedly-factors in to why New York pizza tastes so good. :!:

How would you like to 'ett' this delicacy? I wonder if this is a real Indian treat or just made up for the movie?

^ I don't think *that* is on any Indian food menu I've ever seen!

I love Mexican food-it's plentiful where I live, inexpensive and most of it's good, and depending on what you order, spicy(or not!)

I think chilled monkey brains is an urban myth. But I'd imagine that man from Bizarre Foods America has eaten them!

Oh man..some of the stuff they've shown on Bizarre Foods/Bizarre Food America.. I remember an episode(or several) where they ate roadkill.

San Diego has a large Asian(Chinese/Vietnamese/Cambodian/Fillipino) population. We have a branch of 99 Ranch Market, a large Asian grocery store-they sell spices, meats, the whole deal. But they have things like balut and durian, stuff you can't get most other places.
