Reputation ranking

Post by The Sweeney »

What's with the reputatuon star ranking? How is it judged? Is it due to how knowledgeable a forum member is on here, regardless of their opinion on Craig, or does the high ranking stars only go to the anti mob (as it certainly seems so at the moment).

And more importantly, who decides how high a member is rewarded? The moderators?

If so, then I am suprised I have even been awarded 1 shiny gold star. I thought I would be on minus right now, regardless of my in-depth knowledge of all things Fleming, as opposed to certain others on here who clearly have never read any of the novels, have posted far less than me, but are renowned Craig-haters, so obviously this goes a long way with the moderators.......

I guess my controversial posts and comments don't put me in a favoured light, eh....?

Utterly pathetic!!!

I'm not sure how this works yet The Sweeney.
My old buddy Buzz...I mean Skywalker has one big gold star like us and a rating of 12.7 (at present)
You have 11.5 and I have 12.5, there is no clear understanding as to how this works.
I tried to vote for someone and was told guests may not vote. :?
Okay then.
I guess all will be revealed in the future.

Less of the Buzz. It's Agent Skywalker to you. Where do you get this rating?

Touche Buzz.
So shall we cut the spam and let the powers that be tell us how this rating works.

I asked you yesterday via PM to cut this sh*t out, but you insist to annoy me with this Buzz cr*p. Your like a boil. You pop at the wrong time with an annoying affect.

If you don't want to reply to my question, I'd rather you ignored it than reply with your usual cr*p.

You could've asked me that via a pm agent skywalker.
It would help to cut back on the spam by not posting it yourself.
We've gone off topic here so maybe we should cease to post here untill more light has been shed on the reputation thingy.

I had a PM yesterday saying we had some new kit, the 1st works well, the 2nd the reputation system, I can't get it to do anything aside from denying request to give myself reputation points. Redundant I know ;)
Every time I try to give a reputation point to someone else it displays “Guests are not allowed to view reputation history!”

I guess it is still being debugged.

I think it has to do with our rankings. If we're below a certain level we're not allowed to vote. I don't know if my 5.9 is close to that certain level.

The reputation ranks are based on the number of posts along with length of membership and a few other things. You can get points for giving points, and so on.
I am not entirely certain how it all will work. Some of the settings could end up changing during debug.

There are a few flaws in the system. I just tried to give myself 5,000,000 points and it wouldn't let me.

Any idea when these issues will be resolved?

Sad, sad day friends. Problems with Reputation systems installation caused it to be removed. Apparently there was a problem with the server.
It's not the same thing but a "cash" system has been temporally installed. Essentially as a test.

Points are earned for each post and can be donated to other members.
A reputation system is still being looked about.

The current point system

Moderators have 100 points
Agents 40 points
Commander 30 points
Lieutenant-Commander 25 points
Lieutenant 10 points
New Recruit 1 point
