Hannibal

Post by kater23 »

Is anyone else watching this?Good stuff, though I've wondered how they allow some of it on broadcast TV-but it's on at 10 so maybe that has something to do with it.

Also! A Bond connection as Mads Mikkelsen is playing Hannibal Lecter! :martini:

It is good.A lot of nods to the books even though it's the time before Red Dragon(the first Hannibal book) and eventually they're get to Red Dragon(in Season 4).Silence Of The Lambs and Hannibal(the book) are more up in the air as they don't have the rights to 'em.Hopefully they will, eventally!

I'll wait for Hanna-Barbera to produce a Hannibal Lecter Saturday morning cartoon series.

Hannibal-Barbera?

Hannibal is NOT a family friendly show. Some of the cast(not Mads, unfortunately)Hugh Dancy *girlish giggle*,and some of the producers ,directors and writers are going to be at ComiCon in San Diego next week.

Are you liking it? I almost turned it off a few minutes into the first episode-couldn't figure out where they were going with it..but I stuck with it and I am glad I did!

I've turned a bunch of my friends on to the show, and I bought my nephew the S1 Blu Ray for his birthday!

Bryan Fuller(the showrunner/creator) has a aesthetic that's like nothing else on TV right now. it's gorgeously shot(in Canada-less expensive, and they want somewhere where they can make it seem like they're really in, say Virginia, someplace that gets weather(in the case of last season's filming they filmed a lot of it during the Polar Vortex. They did quite a bit of outdoor filming-not the most ideal situation!)

The music is one of my favorite things about the show.Brian Reitzell, who does the music for the show is a wonder. He uses all sorts of instruments to get that spooky vibe.

It's very violent, it amazes me what they can get away with.. apparently several companies(I believe Amazon may have been one of them since it's on Amazon Prime right after it airs) were willing to air it(for a fee-which I would happily have done.I love the show *that* much!)if it had been cancelled.Luckily it got picked up for a second season, and now a third(not 'till next year but I can wait!)

I can't wait for next season ..a lot of it is going to be the FBI trying to track Hannibal down..apparently we're going to get a different backstory than the books, being that Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal is much younger.

I've just watched episode 7 and was shocked to see Hannibal watching tv in a old t-shirt and jeans eating a McDonald cheeseburger.

I don't think I'd like to attend one of his dinner parties

LOL there has been some fan art involving Hannibal and McDonald's. It's the antithesis of what he is so I can see why people go to it for fan art ideas

What I REALLY hope Bryan Fuller doesn't skip over is the reactions from people who attended Hannibal's dinner parties
