Game Of Thrones

Post by katied »

Just started watching Game Of Thrones after reading several of the books. My dad (who has also read the books) and I are really into it. BTW Blu Ray really is the best way to watch GOT . Looks amazing.

There are two editions of the Blu-ray, well three one is collectors edition, first was pulled because they used George W's head on pike, the reissue digitally removed the head, I'd bet the first edition with W's head will become collectible.

I bought mine off of Amazon(not the GW Bush version and not the collector's edition version). I'm going over to my parents' house tomorrow so will try to watch an episode or two before the rest of the family get there.

I got the collectors edition new with dragon egg for $40 + shipping. I really wanted the ITunes and Ultraviolet code. I redeemed the uv code at vudu so I can almost watch the shows everywhere . Might start on disc one this Friday

Let me know what you think-I won't be able to watch it Friday(my parents are going to have my niece and nephews overnight and GOT isn''t a kid friendly show. Maybe Saturday afternoon, or Sunday, we'll see.)

I wanted a Direwolf puppy after watching the first episode-though they don't stay puppies long-in one scene they're newborn and in the next they're like 8 week old puppy size!

Finished season 1 and saw the 1st show of season 2 (It was a bonus with the collectors set)
I like the show, it's like LOTR meets the ice age.

Watched episode 3-they're starting to introduce more characters. We saw Sam Tarly but he wasn't formally introduced. Wasn't as porny(the Danerys parts) as what I've seen so far.

Game Of Thrones

First two shows the first blu-ray I wasn't sure about it , it was ok but only so. The orgies were out of HBO ROME, I never could get in to Rome the few shows I did see were lame. Game of thrones is layered as detailed as fellowship of the ring but no wizards, elves, or dwarves.

By the end of the series I was wanting season 2 already which will not be out until next month. What sucks is I'll be done with season 2 and have to wait a year for season 3 and hopefully season 4 the next year. Afaik there are only 5 books so it five seasons which is good for HBO as long as they do not kill if prematurely.

Can anyone answer if the book are close to season 1 ? (Katie /new Katier will have the answer before season 1 is up)

Yup Season 2 covers the second book(I have the Season 2 Blu Ray on my birthday wish list  )

Having read the books, they are fairly faithful to the books, but a few things have been changed(the ages of the Stark kids-Sansa is a bit older) and Daenerys is older (late teens?) whereas in the books she's 12.
