I've liked James since he was the Black Prince of Wales in A Knight's Tale . Also he was good in Rome.
James is certainly getting lot of attention recently.

I like the premise too. The main character sounds like a cross between The Saint and Angelina Jolie (wearing her humanitarian rather than her acting hat)!Blowfeld wrote:I've liked James since he was the Black Prince of Wales in A Knight's Tale . Also he was good in Rome.

What was it like?
Re: The Philanthropist starring James Purefoy
I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I'll probably do so over the weekend (so if anyone did see it last night and wants to discuss it, please use spoiler tags where necessary).Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry wrote:What was it like?

I missed it. Maybe NBC will have it online.

I just watched it and regret to report that I didn't like it half as much as I wanted to. Whilst I still think the premise is a good one, it suffers in its execution. The pilot takes far too long to get going, only really picking up in the last quarter-hour or so, and suffers from the same choppy editing that so blighted QOS.

What a shame. How is James Purefoy?

Re: The Philanthropist starring James Purefoy
He was good. I totally believe he could have been Bond in Casino Royale. The only concern I have is that his voice is maybe a little thin and high-pitched for Bond. Prior to Daniel "gorblimey" Craig, all the Bond actors had rich, dark brown voices. But maybe the voice is just one Purefoy adopted for that character, since he was supposed to be a slightly effette son of privilege before having the epiphany that turns him into the Philanthropist of the show's title. I don't remember noticing it before.Blowfeld wrote:What a shame. How is James Purefoy?

James Purefoy was one of the dinner guests on Heston Blumental's Chritsmas Feast on UK TV (along with Charlie Higson).. The food was dreadful!
Bring back Bond!
