I figured that was the case. And there's no guarantee that they won't just take the money and then go back on the deal a year later, like Carrier did

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra warned employers Thursday of legal repercussions if they assist federal immigration officials in an impending crackdown in the sanctuary state, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Under a new state law – the Immigration Worker Protection Act – employers and businesses could face fines of up to $10,000 if they provide employee information to U.S. Immigration Customs, Becerra said.

If employers “start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office. We will prosecute those who violate the law,” he said at a news conference.

The law prevents workers of any immigration status from being detained at workplaces. Among other stipulations, federal officials must obtain a warrant before searching a worksite and employers are required to notify their workers before a federal audit of employee records.-------this logic is the exact reason I despise the Democratic Party here :!: :cuss:

That law should be nullified after the first court hearing. never hold up to legal scrutiny.
States used to have the power to push back like this, but all found out the might of the federal government. Maybe marijuana legalization has given the states the wrong idea about how much power they have to go against federal rule, however in marijuana’s case it was done with unofficial approval.

California is in the bad place of bring a important state in a non election year with the party they never support in power. Trump already cut California’s throat with his tax cut and removal of state and local exemptions. This federal government would have no issue arresting anyone from the governor on down to dog catcher. Or cut all of the federal funds.

How many other states in the last 18 years have been told you can’t hold an opinion or different set of laws to federal statutes. For the blue state party people these were wrong thinking hicks wrong on moral issues like abortion, marriage, bathrooms, go back further to the democrat governors denying civil rights. All those states lost those battles. California is about to find out why. They can go to the extreme and try to withhold federal tax monies and they will still lose, all of the federal law favors the federal government states rights cases rarely win and if they do get over turned later.
California will be in a bad place mostly because the party in power has absolutely no reason to play nice with them.
I’m for states rights but it’s a thing of the past when the federal Government didn’t have the reach or ability to govern at a distance.

Image The Deep State FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) were once considered institutions full of integrity and honor before the Obama Presidency. Now they are riddled with corruption and led by a group of deceiving, criminal and corrupt leaders who are working to overthrow the Trump administration which threatens to uncover their many corrupt and criminal actions over the past many years. Today these swamp monsters may begin to be exposed.

The Democratic lead going into the 2018 midterm elections in November has narrowed, according to a new CNN poll. Democrats now hold only a five-point  lead over Republicans, with 49 percent of registered voters saying the would support Democrats a generic congressional ballot and 44 percent of voters saying they would support Republicans. Suzanne Somers says although she may take some heat from Hollywood for saying it, she’s “happy” with the job that President Trump is doing. :!: :!: :!:

“I’m happy about him,” the “Three’s Company” star told TMZ when asked about Trump’s first year in office in an interview posted Monday.

“I’m happy that the economy’s doing so much better,” the actress said with a smile.

Somers said in typically left-leaning Hollywood, she’s considered “very rare.”

“And now my career is over!” she exclaimed, laughing.

Somers, 71, has called her politics “very personal,” telling The Huffington Post in 2012, “I am an independent and vote the candidate, never the party.”

“This has been the most divisive of all the administrations that I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime,” the author and entrepreneur told Fox Business Network of the Obama administration in 2014. “And it’s become divisive in the industry that if you’re not part of the group, you should probably keep your thoughts to yourself.”

Celebrities who have publicly voiced support for Trump include "Charles in Charge" alum Scott Baio, Wayne Newton, actor Jon Voight, Ted Nugent, Antonio Sabato Jr. and singer Kid Rock, among others.

The Trump administration's tax overhaul is the latest piece of good news for the global economy. The International Monetary Fund said Monday that it expects global growth of "3.9%" this year and in 2019, an increase of 0.2 percentage points over the rates it predicted in October. It would be the quickest expansion since 2011. The fund said that changes to the U.S. tax code approved in December were responsible for roughly half of the boost to growth. "The revision reflects increased global growth momentum and the expected impact of the recently approved U.S. tax policy changes," the group said in a report published ahead of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. --------------Trump, the G.O.A.T. for the economy, immigration, and defense :!:

Rod Rosenstein is on his way out :!: HE approved the FISA warrants on Trump's people based on the Clinton fake Russian dossier :!: A civil war is about to occur in the USA because once the Mueller investigation ends and yields no fruits for the Democrats, the streets will be in chaos with riots by Soros funded groups and the National Guard will be needed........but, the rest of the tax paying people have also seen enough, and once they start attacking the demonstrators in the streets it will get ugly, and the liberals will reap what they sowed and get destroyed on the streets in a final protest to their rotten agendas and delusions :!: It's coming, don't doubt me :!: The liberal media has fomented this anger to the limit now :!: Imagine this misguided loser once Trump is cleared of the fake scheme against him?

Viewing figures for Trump's first SOTU address are down 9% on his inaugural speech this time last year: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/amp/l ... ssion=true

Given how obsessed with ratings he is, expect another 3am Twitter rampage tonight.

nah he got the biggest STOU ratings since 2010.
Why would any compare SOTU to inaugural speech.
BTW we will still get a 3am twitter rant regardless of trump being happy with ratings.

Oh the reason he went on a Twitter rampage before was media using misleading pictures to imply attendance was down. Where after the fact it was on par with obama, now the most watched and that ratings crap I dunno about.

Legal and illegal immigrants wired almost $140 billion from the United States back to their home countries and foreign relatives in 2016. The huge loss of domestic spending by immigrants’ remittances is spotlighted in a new report by the Pew Research Center, which also noted that $6.5 billion was sent back to the United States by foreign-based U.S. workers. That is a 21-fold difference and is enough money to support 2.6 million additional $50,000 jobs in the United States. The remittance number is based on calculations by the World Bank. $28 billion went to MEXICO :!: Simply charge a 10% surcharge for 8 years and the wall is paid for by Mexico :!:

A much-hyped memo that shows alleged government surveillance abuse has been released to the public and includes testimony from a high-ranking government official who says the FBI and DOJ would not have sought surveillance warrants to spy on a member of the Trump team without the infamous anti-Trump dossier.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee on Friday released the memo, which states "concerns with the legitimacy and legality of certain DOJ and FBI interactions” involving FISA, or the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, of Trump associates during the 2016 election.

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee on Friday released the memo, which states "concerns with the legitimacy and legality of certain DOJ and FBI interactions” involving FISA, or the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, of Trump associates during the 2016 election.
So from the memo, we now know this:
 • The FBI knowingly conspired to mislead the FISA Court Judge to obtain a federal warrant.
 • The FBI knew the dossier was questionable, had no credibility, yet they went ahead and presented it to the court.
 • The FBI knew the dossier was a manufactured political hit piece, ordered by the Clinton campaign and designed to look like a serious intelligence report.
 • The FBI knowingly cited news reports that the FBI knew was based on false info fed to reporters by the dossier's author.
So in other words, the FBI lied to the judge that they had credible evidence to justify a wiretap warrant. Geez, withholding information from judges while seeking warrants is a major crime. Prosecutors and police officers go to prison for that. And here we have a presidential candidate, like other candidates, who deserved a fair shot at running for office. But the FBI did outright framing of this candidate and attempted to subvert it all.

Obama used fisa to monitor congress, during the Iran deal o think.

FBI should have never used steel document for a political witch hunt I’m surprised how many are trying to down play how serious this is, if bill Clinton had half of this kind of evidence of bias how he would have played ken Star would have been tarred and feathered and Bill Clinton was actual guilty
