BJ is in NYC I had thought he lived just outside NYC before the storm.

Christie is pissed he didn't get the VP nomination. IMO he wants to be president, give Taft a run for his money. He gave a crappy speech at the convention and is either playing state politics or posting himself for the 2016 which unfortunately will be starting soon. The dems and Repubs are starting the races too d**n early its exhausting (for us) to have 2 1/2 years of campaigning.

If the press is going to squeaky clean Romney's high school pranks for ammo (according to Obama's books he isn't innocent in High school either) then the press would destroy Christie in a few short months of a real campaign. Christie has a few things about him that make him stand out, but enough things I know about him paying causal attention to the world of politics to make me open to an viable option to him.

Anyway these governors and mayors will always play suck up to get federal funds, no matte who is president, they love George W Bush well enough when he opened the federal chequebook..

The storm isn't going to swing those states so I don't know if what Christie does matters.

Then, yes, Taft Jr is running.

I kind of get mad at these politicians who expect to be drafted. Christie and a few other RNC darlings thought they were so precious, so important, that they could sit out the election and still be drafted for president or vice president because they are so important..

I live in NYC. New Jersey is very close over the bridges. Dr. No. You nailed Christie's motive on the money :!: I know this pompous ass's moves quite well living in his proximity. The Meadowlands sports complex has been offered $700 million by various casino interests to build a racino(horse track and slots) where almost HALF of the revenue would go towards New Jersey education as well as billions more over a decade. It would save 3 industries: 1) horse racing which is a vital NJ entity with jobs and open space preservation 2) casino companies 3) education. I was at several town hall meetings with others with Christie's underlings trying to explain that racing must survive without slots and NJ must give massive tax breaks to the new Revel casino in Atlantic City. They made no sense. Christie is in bed with the Atlantic City casino owners. He does whatever they want. Atlantic City is finished. The new Revel casino there is a bust. Everyone knows it. A racino at the Meadowlands, where the 2014 Superbowl will be played outdoors, is wanted by most of New Jersey people, except those in Atlantic City, even though they were offered a piece of it. They want ALL of it in the future. Christie is all for Christie. Everything with him is "I", never we. He is arrogant and a paid off Atlantic City stooge. He wanted the VP. He was passed over so this is payback. Romney should now distance himself from this crumb. He wants Romney to lose and he wants to run in 2016 himself. Why didn't Christie bash Oh-bama's lack of leadership in Benghazi? Christie sucks. I have seen it first hand. Watch him switch parties in the future when Republicans now shun him. He has his Atlantic City group behind him for money.

Meanwhile, many public officials in affected areas say that they are more focused on rescue and recovery efforts rather than the election.

"I don't give a d**n about Election Day," as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie put it Tuesday in his typically blunt manner. "This administration, at the moment, could give a d**n less about Election Day." (He wants to be another Rudy Guiliani, but that will never happen. Windbag.)

I should have added "or 2020 if Romney wins".

A local Michigan television station reports that workers at LG Chem, a lithium-ion battery plant that received over $150 million stimulus dollars, have so little to do that they spend their days playing cards and board games, reading magazines and watching movies. And they have yet to make a single battery.

An LG Chem employee told the station, “there would be up to 40 of us that would just sit in there during the day.” That’s funny, because President Obama told those same workers back in June 2010, “You are leading the way in showing how manufacturing jobs are coming right back here to the United States of America.” Right along with Solyndra, apparently.

This is why I don't want to make a firm prediction about the election result.

Almost better this way both side in the dark. I wish they get rid of the pundits and polls, then the party line hacks who can't think outside the talking points.

IMO Romney is going to win, but I'd rather everyone play like they are going to lose.

A lot of people are talking about Romney winning the popular vote but Obama winning the electoral college vote.

Forgive my cynicism, but it seems to me that the narrower the gap between the parties, the more convinced each candidate's supporters become that the other guy winning would mean the end of civilisation as we know it. Whoever wins, life will go on pretty much as it always has.

Wrong here Kris. If his health care monstrosity is allowed to go into effect in 2014 there will be chaos here financially as the new IRS agents go after citizen's bank accounts if they do not comply with the O's directive.

He says the firm scrutinizes every voter registration form that it turned in to election boards, and even gives canvassers GPS cell phones to ensure that they "are not at their home forging applications."
ACORN workers had admitted they did just that.
Gathering signatures was too difficult, said one ACORN worker in Seattle, so he went home and filled out the forms while he "smoked marijuana."
There are also allegations of forged FieldWorks forms in Cleveland.

ACORN is no more, but the Republicans are still obsessed with it. I suppose it distracts attention away from the voter fraud that Nathan Sproul is carrying out on their behalf in this election.

We should have more stringent voter ID laws both side found they can cheat with just a few dozen to a few hundred in close races. My son had a free movie ticket if had a stipulation ID could be checked upon demand, we push voter drives but can make sure cheating isn't happening yet movie theaters can demand ID.
