Nah, they had Rock bands and free beer to keep them entertained.
But what does it mean if Germany or Paris like Obama?, it reminds me a little of John Kerry and I never thought I would ever, ever, say that about Barack!

I usually tell them that we are on troop deployment, (your whole family? Yes, Stopgap you see ) which is more believable than an American family having the extra money to travel abroad in this economyKristatos wrote:That Americans won't have to pretend to be Canadian when vacationing abroad?Dr. No wrote:But what does it mean if Germany or Paris like Obama?
Germany cheers for Obama Why? They don't know him any better than we do. He is the anti-bush but so is just about anybody running. There is a cult of personality surrounding Obama. I didn't see it clearly myself until the last two weeks.
I like Obama but I wonder if he is ready. Going overseas for photo ops in Europe is nice but it isn't experience. Whoever is elected is going to have the goodwill of the world and have the doors open. That's not going to be the problem, countries thinking they can roll Obama might be.
If Obama is elected then he will not be all of the things they imagine him to be, he won't be the kindred spirit they’d like to imagine., He'll be an american president first and foremost, all of the things they didn't like about bush (41&43), Clinton (42 only thank god), Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon are going to be Obama first responsibility to uphold.
A cheering crowd in Europe doesn't make me feel better when we have problem that need solving here. I'm sure they didn't care when we welcomed the Pope or the French president like rock stars.
