I would love to see a new Star Trek television series too but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I feel the same way about the Bond films..I'm hoping that Bond 23 is an improvement, but I'm not holding my breath!

So it's going to end up like the odd numbered Trek films?
It might do. QOS was a flop and disappointed Craig fans, so perhaps the next Trek film will lack some of the magic of the last Star Trek film that made it so popular.

CR split the fans worse than ST.I don't know how seriously ST fans take the reboot. Its not like STs reboot is saying all the old ST universe never happened just its not happened yet and will happen again in some form.

I'm more hopeful for the next Trek film than I am for Bond 23!

You're not giving up on Trek, are you? I hope you're not thinking that ST XII will be worse than QOS.

In the alternative Trek universe, some events from the classic Trek universe will remain the same.

I'll never give up on Trek - I love it! I was just saying that many fans of the rebooted Bond introduced in Casino Royale were disappointed by QOS. Some fans of the new look Trek series may be disappointed by the next Trek film if it quite poorwhich it could be as it is difficult to make sequels. Remember the other Star Trek films were film versions of long running TV shows, whereas this new team and setting have only been around for one film.

I had some problems with the alternate universe of Star Trek. It was still a well made Star Trek film, unlike QOS which was a poorly made piece of old rubbish with no entertainment value whatsoever. Casino Royale was competently made - I just didn't like Craig and the new Bond character he created. QOS was just awful, a disgrace to the art of filmaking.

I'd make it less frantic and develop the character interaction.

Well, to be fair, so were the reviews of CR. That's why I'm not going to diss the Trek purists who didn't like the reboot, even though I thought it was great.

Both the reboots appealed to fans who were bored with the recent movies on the franchises.

Star Trek needed a reboot far more. It had hit the wall as far as TNG and the television shows went.
