Yes, 46th most bankable star in Hollywood (4 places below Hugh Jackman), that's really impressive Nash.

Just nod and smile, everybody.

He is s**t for all in anything else. If it wasn't for the Bond name he'd be back selling Mrs. Dash® (Salt Free, Flavor-Full)at Big Lots.

Interesting. He is above Pierce Brosnan, which I'm not at all suprised to find, but also above Robert Redford (my favourite actor) which I am suprised at!

More telling is that no English actor makes it in to the top 10. In fact, Bale is the first one listed, all the way down at 29....

Redford is better known as a director than an actor these days. In fact, the last film I remember seeing him in was Indecent Proposal back in the 90's. This seems to have been the first year Forbes has done this (or at least I couldn't find any links to lists from previous years). If you looked at lists from the '60s and '70s, I'm sure RR would have been near the top.

Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolie pretend to be British (on film and at times in their real life) Shouldn't they count ? ;)

Spy Game (2001) was one of Redford's last big movies. He directed and acted in Lions for Lambs which was more a political effort.

What's the criteria? How much their movies earn at the Box Office?

More like how much value they add to the film financially. For example, it's unlikely that a film like The Pursuit of Happyness would have topped the box office charts without a megastar like Will Smith attached. See here for the complete methodology.

I think Redford and McQueen were the 2 biggest stars of the 70's (Attenborough had to go for Redford once McQueen turned down his role in A Bridge Too Far).

After Indecent Proposal, he did The Horse Whisperer, Up Close and Personal, The last Castle, Spy Game (which mazer pointed out), The Clearing, An Unfinished Life and Lions for Lambs. There were rumours over the years that Redford would finally team up with Newman again for a third film, but sadly this will never happen now. Brad Pitt is like a young Redford. I often though they should team up him with Tom Cruise again for a Butch Cassidy/Sting type movie, as they are probably the modern day equivelant to those 2 legends.

Where would Jackman and Owen be on that list if they'd made CR & QOS instead of Craig? DC would be about 22,789 without Barbara and Sony.

So would the rest of his predecessors (including Connery) had they not felt the midas touch of Bond. Woulda shoulda coulda isn't gonna change that Craig is on that list nor is it going to change his popularity as James Bond.

Craig's popularity as Bond? Half hate him and half love him.
I know hard core life long Bond Fans who detest Craig and some who love him by no means is there a consensus. Thing about it is James Bond has always been popular the guy in the suit almost doesn't matter until they change what James Bond is. What we have now a days is fans who like the neo-Bond and those who like what Bond always had been.

Welcome to the forum!

I would argue that Craig's Bond is a completely new character, which is why some who loved the old series are so disgruntled.
Bring back Bond!
