Bond 23 (with Craig). How would you improve the franchise?

If the Broccowilsons read some of the James Board boards(which I doubt they do),they would quit very quickly.

I suspect that they have thicker skins than that. People in the public eye even those who are only there because of who their father was pretty much have to.katied wrote:If the Broccowilsons read some of the James Board boards(which I doubt they do),they would quit very quickly.

They're very lucky. But unfortunately with some of the Bond films they're screwing up(that's cleaning it up... considerably) their father's memory

A new team of writers would help. I'd hold the staples off until the next Bond actor. Even the James Bond music doesn't suit Daniel Craig.
And welcome to the forum Syd and Eddie.

As long as they don't come up with any crap(pier) ideas, I see no reason to get rid of Purvis and Wade. But Haggis is a bit suspect. "shrug*

I want Bond to be more suave in the next film, but I don't think many Casino Royale fans would agree.

Sure. Do you mean the majority of people who kept asking Craig when Bond will be Bond again. Or the people (some 12 million) who watched CR and will not be watching Quark ?LilleOSC wrote:I want Bond to be more suave in the next film, but I don't think many Casino Royale fans would agree.

Re: Bond 23 (with Craig). How would you improve the franchise?
Sorry, that's just how I view much of the anti-Craiggery, resistance to change. "Bond has always had x,y,z so we need to keep having these things". I'm not saying the new films are perfect. (Actually, Casino was pretty close) but I'm glad they made the change.
QOS wasn't as good, but not because it lacks Q, Moneypenny, gadgets and dark hair, it wasn't as good of a story.
I for one say "good riddance!" to perfectly placed gadgets, overly corny humor, outlandish villians, a new throw away girl (with silly name) and rehashed gags.
I welcome change.

Oh I guess her name was Strawberry, I didn't hear her say it, I just assumed it was fields.

I don't think change is a bad thing, wrenchhands. It's just that some people (including me) feel that Bond under Craig has changed too much, to the point where he doesn't even seem like an EON Bond.
Re: Bond 23 (with Craig). How would you improve the franchise?
It said Strawberry Fields in the end credits[/nerdy]

Re: Bond 23 (with Craig). How would you improve the franchise?
That's because there's what, 20 films of "old" Bond and 2 new Bonds? That creates a lot of inertia.
But I'm glad they did. I mean, do we really need more "Flirting with Moneypenny" or "Tounge in cheek banter with Q, followed by scolding over gadget use, followed by use of gadgets in exactly the right situation". Or "Bond has sex with suggestively named girl".
There's nothing holy or sacred about EON's Bond, except taking comfort in the similar. What has been will be there. It's nice to have tradition, and 40 years creates such things. And now it's changed. For the better.

What Wrenchhands said.
I've said it once and I'll say it again:a segment of fans are stuck on the whole Q/Moneypenny/Blofeld thing, judging by how much it comes up on certain Bond boards.
